Please be sure to check these out

I am still looking for people to interview for the show.

What would you like to see me cover this year without bother the major panelists?

Hi everyone:
I will be at Dragon Con this year as a regular guest working on my blogs by shooting interviews of regular attendees and of main events.   I am an amateur and I just started doing my blog work last year at Dragon con and I had loads and loads of fun.

What I would like to do is to show you some links of the stuff that I am working on.  If you would like to meet up at the convention to do some blog work with me, please be sure to send me a PM and we will meet.

Since we appear to have survived the 2012 apocalypse, let's ask DCTV some questions.

Dragon*ConTV are the people who make videos to entertain you while you're waiting in line to get a ticket or waiting for a panel or waiting for the Masquerade to start. One of the things we do are bumpers, those bits with white text on a black background. We make a lot of those each year, and because we're lazy, we recruit you to help us make them.

"How?" you ask. "How can I help make bumpers?" Easy: ask us something. Here are some of the questions we've answered:

To Ask DCTV, start by thinking of a question. Ask that question as a reply to this post. I'll credit your question to your LJ user handle, unless you sign your question with a different name. If you choose a really long name, though, I'll shorten it or make fun of it.

Some general advice: You can post more than one question, though I'll probably only use at most one of them. Take a minute and look through previous questions if you want to make sure you're asking us a new one. Examples of old questions include, but are not limited to: why is there con funk? What should I eat at con? How do I get that sexy sexy guest to notice me?

That's it! Ask away!

Has anybody figured out a way to record the DCTV hotel channel.  Not the bumpers that are available at their DCTV site but, the rest of the programming.  If I could record it, I would not have to stay in my room and watch it, if I missed a panel. The TV's in the hotel rooms are locked down with no way to hook in a recorder.  Youtube is a option after the convention is a option but, the quality is so so from people camcorders.  It would be nice if Dragoncon put up the programming up on iTunes or something.

Does anyone know if the Westin will have D*C TV? I think it would since it's an official hotel, however just because it should doesn't mean it will.

I checked the hotel page and it didn't say anything. It's not that I'll die without it, but I adore the bumpers. :)

Did you film a great costume? Maybe a crazy thing happened when you were filming? Why don't people film the science panels, or the apocalypse rising? Regardless, of what video you have, if its about DC I want it. You don't have to break it down into 10 minute clips like youtube. PLEASE DONT. Send me the full thing, edit it if you want credit, add all you want to it. Just send me the finished version of it. I would like to put it up on Dragoncon247. Streaming videos of Dragon Con. Someone uploaded video of the parade in clips, I'm not sure if it was the whole thing or not. There are no videos of the Masquerade so far. Full length panels are great to watch even after the con. Maybe you'll see something you missed.

Full videos would be great, but I will take what i get. I would love to get videos of the panels that guests walked out on and all the other craziness.

Send it to dragoncon247@gmail.com

And you can watch for your videos @ http://www.justin.tv/dragoncon247 or http://www.ustream.tv/channel/dragoncon247

Thanks everybody who is following me on both those channels and on twitter @ dragoncon247

Thanks to the staff of DragonCon for another great year, lets really celebrate next year!

I checked into the Marriott today, and flipping around the channels, I found that DragonCon TV is already broadcasting!  I wasn't really expecting to see it until tomorrow actually.

However.....the reception is really, really, BAD.  Like if I had a pair of plutonium rabbit ears mounted on this huge flatscreen TV it couldn't possibly be worse kind of bad.  I'm really quite puzzled as to how this could be, unless they're broadcasting from Neptune.  In that case, I would understand it perfectly.  It's too bad, since from the little I can see, it looks like funny stuff.

Update:  The signal has cleared up, so I guess someone fixed something!  :)

Has anyone heard anything about the 2009 videos? I know last year the vids arrived around April 1, but I've been prowling the online store since then and haven't seen anything. Did anyone pre-order and get their copy already?

I believe there was a staff meeting a couple of weeks ago. Any news out of the meeting (guests, hotels, etc) that hasn't been posted yet?
Also, anyone know an ETA on the 2009 highlight DVDs?
[identity profile] call-me-sick.livejournal.com
When is the deadline for videos?
What is the criteria? (time etc)
What is the chance of getting on Dragon*con TV?

A big thank-you to everyone who Asked DCTV in advance of the convention this year. As usual we had scads of great questions, more than we could ever use. In fact, this year I ended up smushing multiple questions together into one bumper! Your question-asking makes my job of creating bumpers much easier.

[livejournal.com profile] buffyphreak had a question about sparkling vampires, while [livejournal.com profile] glasscannon wanted to know why Buffy fans are so bitter. We answered both questions!
[livejournal.com profile] stigmund wondered when we'll get out of Comic-Con's smug shadow.
[livejournal.com profile] captains_folly wanted to know how to teach muggles in the ER about geekdom.
[livejournal.com profile] dianne_the_geek wondered how to make sure to get a room for Dragon*Con next year.
[livejournal.com profile] gypsychilde asked why we haven't made a show called "Keeping Up with the Cardassians".
[livejournal.com profile] pyro_ike wanted to know if, at the Mad Scientists Ball, the mad scientists stand on the wall opposite the cute lab assistants.
[livejournal.com profile] lanofaylin wondered if it's best to dress as an Enterprise crew member or an X-Man when meeting Patrick Stewart.
[livejournal.com profile] dementia was worreid about what childhood toy Hollywood would next steal for a movie.
[livejournal.com profile] jellibean asked for a written excuse for missing class on Thursday.
[livejournal.com profile] amelia_80 asked what all Edward James Olmos has invented other than SF.
[livejournal.com profile] alexdelarge78, [livejournal.com profile] greyloch, [livejournal.com profile] crazeyal, [livejournal.com profile] heartfully_cai, and [livejournal.com profile] dementia had so many questions about Twilight.
[livejournal.com profile] radegund_lj needed to know what other books like Pride & Prejudice & Zombies we'll soon see.
[livejournal.com profile] lomer wanted help on how to explain to a celebrity that she and her sister weren't interested in a threesome with him.
[livejournal.com profile] colbane was curious about why all of the TV show characters are getting younger than him.

Thanks again. You guys are the best.
