I've been looking for this on the website and the archives, but can't find it. Can anyone let me know where and when the Eternal Member Green Room Party is on Thursday night? Are we allowed to bring a friend who is not an EM?

I'm out of town, and I have to transfer several badges to folks who will be onsite via a friend who will be there. What process do I need to use?

1. A few weeks ago (I think) I saw a post on here concerning where to eat at the Con and someone mentioned a place George Takei (again...I think) had recommended.  Does this ring a bell for anyone? I thinking of eating there Thursday night.

2. Didn't there used to be a shuttle run by the lovely D*Con people taking people from the airport to the hotels? I feel like I've seen people with con related signs waiting by baggage claim advertising a shuttle of sorts.  Are they still offering that?  I get in at 8pm Thursday night and I'm considering different transportation options. Is MARTA a safe option around that time frame?

3. See above re: 8PM arrival. For those of you who are familiar with flying into Atlanta for the con, is there any chance of me making badge pick-up before 10 or should I resign myself to an early wake up Friday morning?

4. Has anyone ever used Hyatt's on-line checkin service before? Since I'm not getting in till late-ish, want to have dinner with some loved ones before the Con begins, and have to deal with the airport for once I'm trying to avoid checking in super late. My boyfriend has a fear of heights and the sooner I can check-in and hopefully snag our requested low-floor room the better. Tips?

You would think after years of coming to this thing I'd be able to answer a lot of this myself but it's my first time ever flying in (I've picked people up at the airport plenty of times though!) and it seems to be throwing me off lol.

But as the forcast stands right now, we may have some pretty agreeable weather for Labor Day weekend in Atlanta.  Anyone who lives in the southeast knows that since the end of May, temps have been in the mid to high 90's with awful humidity. According to weather.com, the temperature is expected to be around the mid 80's, with little to no precipitation.  That still may seem a little warm to some, but compared to what it's been like here in Atlanta this past summer, that would be a much welcomed break. See you all in 5 days :)

Does anyone know?
If so, when will be be, where's signup, how many points, etc? Thanks :D

I'm trying to transfer a membership but I can't find the badge number on the yellow postcard that I received in the mail? Does anybody know where I can find it?

Forgive the possibly stupid question...

What is the difference between Registration, and Pre-Registration?

Is that like, the difference between people who bought their tickets in advance, and those buying at the door? I always buy my badge in advance, but I have a friend flying in to meet me that's buying at the door. Do we have to go through completely different processes?

Just a quick reminder for everyone who is attending Dragoncon, that if you want to march in the Saturday morning parade group of the Prydon Academy (a costuming group for Doctor Who, Torchwood, and The Sarah Jane Adventures, please join the forum over here:

http://www.prydonacademy.com/forum/

The forum is free to all; you do need a login and password, and these are sent out as soon as you sign up. :)

Then find the Dragoncon forum, and post in the various threads.

Parade ribbons will be given out at the pre-parade meet-up. Don't forget that you must wear your Dragoncon badge to march in the parade.

After the parade ends, the group has a photo-shoot (location posted over at the forum). Photographers welcome, and even if you can't or don't want to march in the parade, you're welcome to show up in costume to be part of the photo-shoot. :)

There's also the Brittrack costume panel that a lot of PA members attend. The official D*C schedule isn't up at the time of my writing this post, but I have been told that it will be sometimes Saturday afternoon.

Also, many PA members go out to eat as a group on Saturday evening. :)

Much more info at the PA forum!

I've also posted some basic con tips and some specific to Dragoncon over on the [livejournal.com profile] dragoncon community.

The first set is here:
http://community.livejournal.com/dragoncon/2430029.html?view=26742349#t26742349

The second set is here:
http://community.livejournal.com/dragoncon/2499527.html?nc=11

These con tips include some costuming and sewing kit tips. :)

See everyone at the con! :)

Hi LOST fans! Since the XTrack has kindly posted their tentative schedule, I thought it might be fun to plan a LOST meetup/photoshoot before one of their LOST-themed panels. Wipe away those Jears, grab your Dharma jumpsuits and meet up at 6:00 or 6:15 Saturday outside of the hallway leading back to the XTrack rooms on the Marquis level of the Marriot (handy Marriott map)!

SO, if Froggy's pre-sales are closed, does that mean we're out of luck if we want a photo? Is there an on-site option? I really want my pic with Stan, and I didn't pre-pay!!!

:-(
[identity profile] melonaise.livejournal.com
So the pick up counter for will call is described as being in the pre-reg section... does that mean I would have to wait through the pre-reg line of doom?? The reason I don't buy badges a year in advance anymore is specifically to avoid the doom!

I just found out that Froggy's Dragon*Con Photo-Ops Pre-Sales have CLOSED and I'm kinda annoyed/frustrated because I sent at least four e-mails to Froggy a long time ago asking him when it was going to close and he never responded back.

Anyways, does anyone know if Froggy's Photo-Op tickets can be purchased AT the con? I am absolutely PRAYING that this is the case. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Hello Everyone,

This has been such a whirlwind year! Everything seems to be getting here faster than expected, well at least from my point of view!  I am sure from out there, time is ticking s-l-o-w-l-y... especially when you want a schedule!

No more waiting!!!  The Pocket Program is now available for download in PDF format only.  Other formats coming tonight and tomorrow (see the website for details).

Dragon*Con Publications Website

2010 Pocket Program FULL (7.5 Mb-PDF)

2010 Pocket Program Grids ONLY (1 Mb-PDF)

Apologies that our iPod/Driod apps will not be ready for this year, but look for them in 2011 (for our 25th Anniversary no less!)  However, I strive to provide a wide array of formats so you can make them work on whatever your PDA weapon of choice is.

Enjoy!

EDIT: The Gaming Schedule will be in a separate booklet this year.  It will be added to the Publications website when completed as well.

Sorry about a potentially stupid question, but I'm a newbie here and was hoping for some help.  I was looking at the schedule, and saw that some of the guests will be appearing in the Walk of Fame.  Is there a way to find out when they will be there, or is that just luck of the draw?  Any help would be appreciated!

Hey guise! A few questions...

-Parking. Where can I park if I don't have a hotel? Are there any super cheap or free places around?

-I read in someone's guide you shouldn't sleep in your car. What if you have no other option? I have no where to stay and no money for a hotel.

-Showers. Is there a place for people without rooms to shower?

-And lastly.. I THINK I asked this before, but can't find my old post. I need a definitive price for Stan Lee's autograph. I would ask about Kristin Bauer's, but I'd pretty much pay almost anything for that fierce HBIC's signature.

OT, any Digimon cosplayers showing? : ) I'm gonna go as Taiki!

Just thought it would be worth mentioning for those who are trying to keep straight which parties are when... many of the parties listed here are also posted on www.dragonconforums.org , which I find handy when I am trying to remember which night is Heros's vs Villans, vs the ABC party, vs the Pancake chowdown... and since I always worry I missed something in Live Journal with my slow internet connection, this gives me an extra layer of reassurance. The DragonConForums also have a bunch of helpful people who have helped answer a bunch of question... particularly for newbies... I think it is worth checking out, and thought I would share.
