Registration/Pre-registration

Forgive the possibly stupid question...

What is the difference between Registration, and Pre-Registration?

Is that like, the difference between people who bought their tickets in advance, and those buying at the door? I always buy my badge in advance, but I have a friend flying in to meet me that's buying at the door. Do we have to go through completely different processes?

All registration, whether at the door or prepaid, will be in the same area, but you'll need to get in a different line from your friend. Yours will probably be longer.

I guess my question regards the different times, too:

Pre-Registration hours are as follows:

Thu 9/2 -10am - 10pm
Fri 9/3 - 8am - 10pm
Sat 9/4 - 8am - 10pm
Sun 9/5 - 8am - 10pm
Mon 9/6 - 8am - 5pm

Registration hours are as follows:

Thu 9/2 - 2pm - 10pm
Fri 9/3 - 8am - 10pm
Sat 9/4 - 8am - 10pm
Sun 9/5 - 8am - 10pm
Mon 9/6 - 8am - 5pm

So, if we both get over there on thursday at 10 am, can one of us not register yet?

Gotcha. Yes, that's correct as far as I know- only the pre-reg lines will be open early. Your friend won't be able to buy his/her registration until that line opens up at 2.

Yes, pre-registered only from 10ish to 2ish. (Times are approximate and based partly on staffing, which can sometimes be iffy.)

Yes, your "pay at the door" friend could not pick up his/her badge until 2 p.m. Thursday. The pay at the door people are "wait-listed" until their queue opens at 2 p.m. However, the line for registration could be starting around 10 a.m.

Okay, so my best bet is probably to tell him to come along and line up whenever I get there, anyway. (Which will likely NOT be at exactly 10 am.)
