I'm posting this for a friend.

He has room for two at the Hyatt. I think check-in is on Thurs and check-out is on Monday. Male or female is fine. :)

Turns out my boyfriend and I had two room bookings and we need to give this one up. Alas, I'd feel like a douche to put people in tough spots so I'm passing this on to whoever wants it (obviously you'd have to pay for it).

If interested, please let me know here or email me at msmarvelgirl(at)gmail(dot)com so I can give you more details and put you in touch with my friend.

There's a whole community for room transfers: [livejournal.com profile] dragonconrooms.

It includes this list of people who have been waiting for months, some since last October, for a room: http://community.livejournal.com/dragonconrooms/191061.html

Marriott Marquis has rooms

I heard the Marriott still has rooms at $329 for three nights. You have to pay upfront and if you cancel, you lose your money.

Just wanted to say, I love the avatar. The Huntress is awesome!

Cool! Too bad your Huntress won't be ready for DragonCon. I love seeing Huntress costumes. Always marvel at how great costumes are at cons. I usually just wear a superhero T-shirt. Never been to New York Comic Con. It must be awesome. Just DragonCon & Wizard Atlanta for me. Also, I use the user name on a few new different messageboards and for aol emails. The "DG" is for Dick Grayson and the "22" was a tip of the hat to fighing Two-Face.

I came to give Huntress love, too. Year One is probably my favorite costume so far.

Love the Year One mini-series. By the way, are you two familiar with her older stories. The Joey Cavalieri and Joe Staton series of the 80's was pretty cool. I met Joe Staton at HeroesCon in Charlotte a few times and got some issues signed. He told me Huntress was his favorite character. He created both the 70's version (Bruce Wayne's daughter) & the modern version (Helena Bertinelli).

I love and adore Wayne's daughter version and this one. I like the different takes on her personality. I have The Dark Knight's Daughter and Year One. I miss having a multiverse cause I liked Wayne very much as Huntress, even if I'm a darker personality by nature.

Oh yeah, in keeping with The Huntress theme, Matthew Clark just added me as a friend on facebook today! He did the covers to Huntress: Year One. Great artist. Facebook is great for interacting with comic artists and writers. Hope to see your Huntress this year.

I love Wayne's outfit, but man, I'd need her house set up to be able to look good in it.

I haven't read Cry for Blood yet. I go through stages with DC cause it get so dark (storywise) that I have to take long breaks. Right now I'm reading...um, whatever my LCS told me to read (too lazy to go look at my book shelf).

I'm down for Huntress talk. I love characters that play by their own rules.

I can offer reading recomendations. I buy a rediculous amount of comics. I'd say as far as DC goes: Dark stories = Secret Six, is excellent. Also for Light stories = Booster Gold, equally great. Also anything by Straczynski or Johns are all really great too. I think I'm following more DC now than Marvel.

Never read Cry for Blood. Was that Rucka? Took awhile for me to get into his stuff. But I LOVED his recent Question backup in Detective with Cully Hamner (who is at DragonCon every year). The Hutress & Montoya made an awesome team. Sorry to see it end. Loved her also dating Vic Sage in the animated series (from your avatar above). Never gotten into Birds of Prey. Not enough Huntress for me. Love the Jim Lee version & Paul Gulacy's. He drew her in a couple Batman mini-series. Gorgeous art. Had him sign that Batman cover for me with her on. I'm always up for talking comics, and I love the Huntress. I'll be the one going through Artist Alley wheeling a big box of comics to get signed since I don't get a room there or have a car. Going to be tough this year with so many comic guests.

My local comic shop has had a big sale on mini-busts for a few months now. I keep my eye on the Huntress one. Got the Wonder Woman one a few months back. Half off mini-busts.

Oh, Wizard Atlanta is new. It is in it's first year. So far it looks underwhelming since all their comic guests were past DragonCon guests.

Oh, I found it.

Here is the Pual Gulacy cover he signed for me.

I ran into him years ago late at night at DragonCon, and he talked to me one on one for about an hour!!

Also love his cover with Catwoman & Batman:

Have a print of that one signed from Jimmy Palmiotti who inked it. (He's coming this year too!)

Gail Simone isn't on the guest list for DragonCon right. Though I'd love for her to come. Though I'm happy with Neal Adams (my favorite artist ever), Paul Smith, Tim Sale, Kelley Jones & so many more.

There will be a lot of great Batman artists there though.

Neal Adams (in my opinion is the best Batman artist ever)
- 70's Batman comics & the new Batman Odyssey series

Kelley Jones
- 90's Batman during the Bane storyline & Batman/Dracula Red Rain

Tim Sale
- Long Halloween & Dark Victory (some of the best Batman comics ever)

Darwyn Cooke
- Batman Ego, Catwoman Selina's Big Score & main Catwoman series, he also created her modern look.

Mike Mignola
- Not only did he create Hellboy, but he did a lot of incredible Batman covers, especially the Batgirl Special & the ones where Jason Todd dies.

George Perez
- 1st appearance of Nightwing in Teen Titans, also 1st Tim Drake

As for Marvel artists:
Olivier Coipel
- House of M, Thor, & Siege

DragonCon is going to be awesome!!

I know a lot of comic fans who use FB to talk to the industry people. That and CBR. The internet's a great tool for that since otherwise we'd get maybe once a year if lucky.

I know, it's awesome. I think I'm friends with 50 or more comic book creators. Many of them love to tell fans what they are up to or show art work there. Actually, George Perez uses Facebook a lot. He recently said on there how he no longer cares for comic-con's corporate feel and may not go back. But he said DragonCon is a can't miss show! He loves all the costumes.

I love that gothic edge, too. And it's very "Now, what?" to it. Powerful. Feel free to use it. It's just a cropped pic from BoP. Here's another one. But I love the crossbow of the other, it's got Helena's attitude downpat.

(You should do it if possible! Huntress love is never, ever wrong. Ever. Never. And I must find you and snap a pic if you do. Which is rare, I'm a baaad photographer at D*C.)

Definitely love to see you both in your Huntress costumes. Batgirl will be awesome too. I don't have a costume, but I'll bring my camera.

By the way, since you like Batgirl too, here is a link to my Thrillkiller Batgirl sketch I got last year from Dan Brereton (he's coming back too). This was from the comic book artist sketch jam for Hero Initiative on Friday night. $20 sketch to benefit Hero Initiative. Love the sketch.
