New Dragon*Con Walking Dead/Zombie Costuming Group on FB

There was recently a discussion going about Walking Dead/Walking dead style zombies going on in one of (if not the?) main Dragon*Con Facebook groups - so a few of us got together and started a costuming group for Walking Dead characters and zombies!

It's an open group, all are welcome to join. We'll hopefully have some kind of meetup at D*C, but even if not we're trying to get up some makeup discussions (for zombies) and reference photos (for specific TWD characters) and whatnot. Should be a great group! (Seems to be so far, anyway :) ) So if you're planning on doing a costume of a specific TWD character, or even just a zombie, come check it out....or even if you're just interested in the show and are going to D*C, come check it out! :)

Oh, and don't worry about costume/character doubles or anything like that. We're just in this to hopefully get a big group together and take some great pictures and all that jazz :)

(I've tagged this with "photoshoots" as well because it's very very likely that we're going to schedule a TWD photoshoot at D*C...as in, at this point I don't see why we WOULDN'T do so, haha)

I'm so excited and tickled to see your group set up as well, though - we should all of us totally coordinate together for one gloriously massive TWD cosplay invasion, just en-masse....it'll be *fabulous*, and you know we'd all of us take the *best* pics. :D

I actually knew about that group :) I know several people who are in it, in fact :) I was under the impression that it was a one character/costume per group member thing, which is why I started this new one. Not that there's any problem with that, I honestly just assumed it was for a photoshoot or something? Anyway, this is sort of just a general fan group too, like...even if someone doesn't want to dress up as a WD character or a zombie, hopefully they'd still come hang out to chat about the show/comics :D Obviously anyone who is in the other TWD group is moooore than welcome to join this one, and a big coordinated cosplay invasion/photoshoot would clearly be awesome. The more zombies the better! haha

Aha, neato! Well, I guess I can go ahead and join your group as well, then, in that instance....totally works for me, and the more of us the better by far, definitely....always love connecting with more show/comic fans, and if ever there was a place for us, indeed....! :) I'm the Amy in that group - actually doing newly-zombified Amy, particularly. ;)

Coolness, absolutely we must! All the gloriously angsty pictures! It's like....what would've happened, how Amy might have looked, if Andrea hadn't put her down....so sans bullet hole, obviously, but absolutely *soaked* in fake blood, and I tell you I'm actually, bizarrely, kind of looking forward to getting at the shirt and the jeans and just mangling them all to heck. I've done fake blood spatter before, for BTVS Dark Willow, but this'll be something else. :D Incidentally, bit of a helpful tip I've found, to that end - I gather some have used RIT dye, I think the wine colour, for bloodstains....I've used liquid fabric paint and it works quite well too, very vivid. And then, of course, there's the various types of fake blood to choose from - more dried and rusty, or more fresh and liquid and appropriately gory-like.... To be sure, this'll be my first time ever trying out zombie bites....gotta figure out how to finagle those, some way or another. :)

I'm in the process of assembling my Walking Dead (tv show version) Governor costume. Definitely looking forward to this year's Con. Wanted to share this with any other Governor cosplayers. Great screen accurate eye patch I found. Not see thru, but very nice.

You know i have the same riot armor the zombie guards had and a mask. Hmm
