Thanks, I tried about 8 times before 10:08am... I tried switching around the dates, tried switching from the 3 day deal to the 4 day deal... tried switching to and from early bird... But alas... each time it said there were no rooms available... I was able to find a King sized bedroom open Monday night... but that's it...
Tried to get a room, got that damn res_111 error. tried several times again after that, only to get to confimation only to be told some of the night/rooms were now sold out.
Now everything is gone.
It's a really shitty website, any reservations system with half a brain holds your allocation until you complete the booking or quit (or times out after say, 3 minutes). What a mess.
Totally agree. I hit the reserve button 3 minutes after it finally let me onsite, 10:03 their time. And I got the same error message. Wish I had thought to cut & paste my address, & email address, etc. This just sucks!
Easy time over here. Had the credit card info ready to cut-and-paste and got everything lined up by 10:02. Even had two browsers open but only needed the one. I guess good luck has to strike eventually ;)
Went pretty smoothly this year, thankfully, but of course rooms got snapped up quickly. Having to take a wild guess at what reservation type to choose (what??) certainly made it a more exciting situation. I ended up trying several right at 7:01, finally decided 3 Night Stay was the way to go, then booked four nights (Thursday-Monday) under that code. Something they could have warned us about in advance, at the very least.
As of 10:23am Eastern, for 3 Night Stay option, Thursday-Monday, two people, I'm still seeing Radius one-queen rooms available. The Radius is great if it's just you and one other person, no elevator wait, great location, all that. That is, of course, if you can get the page to load at all. :P
As of 10:40am Eastern, all options for Thursday-Monday are showing booked now. But the Radius rooms did last an extra 15 minutes or so, which is one of their selling points for me. :P
Yeah, that threw me off for a minute too. I didn't know which i was supposed to put the code under, so i went under the 4 night stay option and got my room for wednesday-monday no problem.
So, in the past has anyone seen them open up more rooms later or is this it. If you didn't get one you just have to wait and see if someone cancels?? and if thats the case, do you just periodically call the hotel or do you go back to passkey? thanks for any help. I was on at 10 and it told me sold out immediatly
The Hyatt has in the past resold cancelled rooms at the D*C rate (unlike the Marriott who put them back at the $300+ rate). Rooms come available in a few places.
Last year the passkey site shut down after the block sold out and could not be used to check for openings. The year before that rooms sometimes showed up on the passkey site. I don't know what will happen with that site this year.
You can always call the hotel and see if there are any openings. You'll usually have better luck with their local number: 404 577 1234
Two years ago most of the rooms that I saw come available late were through their Hyatt.com website with a special group code. That code has not been posted yet, but the D*C site will probably post it later.
And, of course, you can get your name on the transfer list over at dragonconrooms and hope someone has an extra room to spare.
I didn't trust the time so I kept trying the site & it would reload after 30 seconds & tell you to come back. Kept doing that knowing it would let me in at the right time & at the worse I would be 29 seconds into the event. Which it finally let me in. But didn't think to have my info so I could cut & paste. So it took almost 3 minutes to get to the reserve button. Which I did & it sent me into the "spin" cycle. Was tempted to hit the button again but didn't. Remained in that for 2 minutes & then it gave me the error message that 4 nights were booked. Tried for 3 nights but then the room wasn't available. Refreshed again & all the rooms except one type were gone. I gave up at that point. Can anyone tell me if I should of hit the reserve again after I was in the spin mode for more than 30 seconds. I can't believe the site doesn't do like concert sites & hold it until timed out or such. Guess I will try for the Marriott now. Don't want to stress out all year. Decided to do this early this year but this is stressful too!
i got through the passkey fine and got my room, which is exciting, though i still don't have the confirmation email. but I have the confirmation code they gave me on the last page, so i'm going to give them until this afternoon before i start calling trying to figure out what's going on. wednesday - monday, yay!
If I remember correctly, Passkey took their sweetass time sending out the confirmation emails last year, on the order of days or weeks, definitely not the same day as landrush. The confirmation code should be plenty until they start sending out the full emails. :P
Honestly it's 3:05 PM right now and I still don't have an email from them, heh. I do however have a confirmation number and while checking out it gave me this possible upgrade stuff...I chose the discounted internet package and I *did* get an email from that with my dates of stay etc. in it so I'm hoping that's good enough...
