Movie Geekdom in Macon, GA

So here in Macon,GA we have Harrison Ford (Han Solo, Indiana Jones), Christopher Meloni (Law & Order SVU, Oz, True Blood), Alan Tudyk (Firefly/Serenity, Fringe) and possibly Peter Jurasik (Babylon 5) filming the movie 42 about Jackie Robinson. Geez it like a geek convention here in Macon.

Never had it that good when I lived down there years and years ago...Best I recallwhen I was there was that James Doohan did a grand opening at the Medical Center...

Oh...Shannon Tweed-Simmons, longtime partner of Gene Simmons and veteran of several Skinemax movies, once appeared at the video store near my apartment...to promote her then latest release, they ran a win a Date With Shannon contest and someone who frequented the store actually won a date! lol

Not of course counting all the Atlanta Braves who put in time with the Macon Braves on their way up the minor league ladder

Yeah Andruw Jones was dating a Hooters girl that lived downstairs from me years ago. Of course we didn't know who he was or would have recognized him since my friends and I were very drunk that day. Brad Dourif did a film here years ago, but just this year Macon has had both Clint Eastwood and now Harrison Ford doing baseball films here.

Having Luther Williams Field seems to work wonders even if they cant keep a team there....it was a major haunt of mine during the Macon Braves era...especially the 2 for 1 beers on Thirsty Thursdays(had a coworker who NEVER missed a Thursday Night home game for anything...lol)

Having lived in Macon for 5 years, it's always nice to see it get mentioned. Hopefully this will put some money into the local economy, too!

Last night Alan Tudyk was at the restaurant (the Rookery) my group was at and then when we went to my local bar (the Hummingbird) he was there also.
