This form is for those who are registering at the door, NOT those who have pre-reg'd and have blue cards. Is that correct??

Yeah, what I've read in other posts, the form to fill out at home is for people who HAVEN'T preregistered. All the info on that link looks like it's aimed at people who are registering at the door, not those who have prereg'd. For prereg I think you just need your postcard with your barcode and a photo ID.

I'm having trouble generating the QR code. Not sure if you are able to help, but when I fill out the form and try to generate the code, it asks me to download a .php file, which doesn't appear to contain a QR code... any help, please?

Any info on what's holding up preregistration?

The machines went down a couple of times, and I guess they had to switch to Backup System while repairs were effected.

I don't know whether to blame Hardison or Daleks.

At the front of the line they discussed it was indexes on the MySQL Database that pegged the host machine at 90's+ utilization. This may be solved now.

Easily the quickest pre-reg line I've ever been in. In at 10AM in a line that wrapped around the Sheraton, and out with a badge by 11AM. This system is amazing.

The system ran great for the first couple of hours - about four times the former throughput rate.

We then had a about two and half hours of head scratching while the system bogged down. Even at the slower rate the throughput was about twice the old alphabetical book look up system.

We ask Jobu to come, take fear from MySql temporary table indexes. We offer him cigar, rum. Jobu came through.

Problem fixed about 16:00. We actually emptied the line at 18:00. After that there was never a line of more than five minutes.

We've taken some other steps in case the error or something similar happens again though we think we found the problem.

Thanks for everyone's patience - it will be fun to see the line move again later this morning.

Heh. When the line started moving, that was my estimate too: about a four hundred percent improvement.

Unfortunately, I got in line at 2:05 pm. :(

Maybe if it crashes again, let ppl in line (or at least those on ellis and courtland streets) know it's down, and they can come back? Thanks for all the work, regardless. :)

I second this! Hopefully it doesn't happen again, but if there's some reason for delay sending a runner out to let folks waiting in a line wrapped around the hotel would be a good thing.
