No one if forcing anyone to stay at the Omni hotel. Possibly the reason the Hyatt is changing the 100 rooms to the Omni is due to the two hotels working out at deal for the rooms at a discount rate for the guest. Plus the other incentives they are giving (low rate for next years hotel, reservations made noe for the 2012 con, Marta pass, etc) are to try and make up for the changing of rooms. But, anyone who finds that not acceptable to them can just cancel there reservations and go else where. The point I was trying to make was at least the hotel is putting in some kind of effort and not just canceling with an "I'm sorry but your reservation has be canceled due to room construction", it shows good customer service even in a bad situation.
The problem is that with less than a week to go, booking elsewhere might not be an option. Sure, the Westin is available now, but we have no way of knowing how many rooms are left at the Hotwire rate or left in general. If the hyatt hasn't yet contacted everyone who's being moved(though I hope they have) then whoever hears last may have no choice but to stay at the Omni. Which for some of us is straight up not an option.
