I just got an eternal membership to Dragon*Con can I still volunteer?

I just got an eternal membership to Con and was wondering if I can still volunteer friends of mine have said that they were not sure if the $20 fee could be taken out of an eternal membership while my logic says it can I just wanted to make sure so I am not surprised when I try.

Yes, you can still volunteer, and I imagine they'll probably waive the fee since you've already paid for a membership. My first year as a volunteer, I'd already bought a memebership for that year, so I didn't have to pay the fee in addition. :)

If you purchased an Eternal Membership and volunteer I think they have to get another volunteer to walk before you at all times, throwing rose petals on your path. :)

I have, for the last 3 years, bought my own ticket and still volunteered. The only caveat is that you should communicate to the staff member you contact that you have an Eternal (or just a membership) already. I stopped doing the whole 20. I just wanted to give back a little to the community.

The system will give you a badge if you don't give them the information. That makes the numbers off. If you work the full hours, and don't require a badge, it affects the paperwork and who gets to snap up free floating newbies next year.

Communication is the only requirement... That.. and not showing up drunk.. murdering NASCAR idjits (where you can be filmed..) etc etc..

unfortunately in May I was in the hospital 3 times (once for SVT and twice because my INR was over 5.0) and did not follow through on volunteering I still want to in the future but with my luck I thought it would be best to hold off this year in-case I end up there again closer to Con. (I hope not but...)
