Does HBO participate at D*C like it does at other cons? Specifically, do they bring one of the irons thrones from Game of Thrones? If not, what does it take to get them in the loop?

Heads Up on Likely Early Master Post Mode

Had more ISP problems during the night but was back up when I got up this morning.

Between that and the oncoming weather situation, its extremely likely that the community will enter Master Post Mode sometime today instead of Wednesday morning as we've done in previous years.

Also, when I tried to post the original version of this post, Livejournal booted me off and wiped out my entry. This has also been an ongoing problem the past few days for me, which makes going Master Post Mode early even more likely.

We'll see how things go today, but be prepared.

I lost my blue postcard in my recent move. I know I can go to the troubleshooting line. Does anyone know how this works? When does it split off? How much extra time will I need to budget? Anyone use it last year on Thursday morning?

For Sale: Motorcycle Helmet

I have an Icon Alliance Rat motorcycle helmet that I'm trying to sell, so I figure I might post it here and get a little extra cash for con--I can deliver the helmet at con.

It's a size XL, still in really good condition. The only reason I'm selling it is because I lost weight so it's too big for my head now and would be unsafe to ride in. There is a small scratch on the visor and the front vent is loose but it still closes and opens fine.

I have one quick question (actually I have many, but this takes priority). I realized that my driver's license doesn't have my updated address on it (the address I used to buy my ticket). Will this cause a problem? I did print out a "Temporary Internet Change of Address" card from the license center, but the real one to use until it's time to renewal won't be arriving until after I leave for the con.

My annual Boingo recommendation!

I discovered a couple of years ago that, for a single $10 monthly subscription fee that could be turned off at any time, Boingo Wireless would get me online in the hotels and airports I was going to be in for Dragon*Con, where I'd otherwise have to pay separately.

Boingo works in the Atlanta Marriott Marquis and the Hyatt Regency Atlanta, as well as in the Hartsfield Jackson Atlanta Airport and many of the connecting airports I travel through. So, I could pay $78 to the Marriott for six days of Wi-Fi connectivity, plus whatever fees are charged at the Detroit and Atlanta airports during my sojourns there, or I could just pay Boingo $10. Not a tough choice. You should join me. (No, sadly, I don't get any benefit from you signing up from Boingo, other than the warm glow of helping someone save their money for something better than handing it to the Marriott or Hyatt.)

So last year I saw a foot pursuit in the Marriott about 3 or 4 in the morning. The guy was dressed like Pee Wee Herman. I saw several people videoing and was wondering if anyone here was around. I remember it went through the pulse bar and ended up in the hall way just down from there between the hotels.

Vampire Diaries M&G ticket--you want it?

I've got to unload a ticket for the Celebrity Authentics "Meet and Greet" Saturday night, 6:30 p.m., at the Ritz Carlton, with some of the cast of The Vampire Diaries.

I paid $50 for it, but can't use it b/c of COURSE it's the only time on Saturday Adam Baldwin is having photos done. And, before ya say, "but ctofine! you can go ANY day!" I'll say, "Not when we are in our 'Shades of Jayne'" Costumes on Saturday for the parade and the photo!" *grin*

It's a special thing CA does with some of the Vampire Diaries cast (listed as of this evening's info):

I so wish I could go this year, been busy and got lucky to attend last year.

Will be vicariously enjoying the con via online updates and the like and hoping the weather holds well enough for y'all.

I do want to say play safe, drink lots of water (not incl. alcohol ;)) and look out for each other like folks usually do at this awesome convention.

Cheers and hope to make it back to see folks next year, especially at the Firefly/Whedon track :D
