My sister's friend is a Dragoncon newbie, and she happens to have a gluten allergy. Are there any restaurants near the convention that serve gluten-free entrees? I know Mellow Mushroom has a bunch of gluten-free pizzas, but I believe it's a bit of a walk from the hotels.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I want to have a simple but great looking tardis dress made for Dragon*Con this year as a gift for my girlfriend. I am looking for someone who could do a commission for me. I don't want to spend a ton of money but I have $100 saved for it and could add a little more in needed. Does anyone have advice on how to get it made or someone they would recommend to me for making it?

My husband and I are each looking for 4-day memberships. We're willing to pay $60-80/each, plus transfer fees, and I can PayPal immediately. Any help is appreciated.

Stay shiny!

EDIT: Got two. Thanks, all, for your responses!

I'm not completely sure how it is decided WHICH room you get at the Marriott upon check-in. Like, is it possible to say 'Can I get a room that's as high as possible?' or vice versa? I'm assuming it's based on what is available/clean when you get there and are ready to check-in. I'm mainly asking because I'm arriving Thursday (to avoid the Friday madness!!!!) and would love to be able to have a room that's fairly close to the ground (just in case the elevators were annoying and I decided to use the stairs instead) or one that's extremely high up because, if I remember correctly, the elevator bay in the Marriott for the upper levels goes to a smaller number of levels than the other elevators bays, thus the odds for shorter elevator wait times would be increased.

If I am reading this correctly on the DCon website, Celebrity Authentics is having you order and pay for the photo and signature of a star prior to DCON. Does anyone know if this is true? And I noticed on their site you have to preselect the few pics they have available and once there, pick up the pic or whatever from a booth prior to going into the room where they are. Ian Somerholder is 45.00.....heck that is more than some of the veteran actors that have a huge body of work behind them. Just curious if anyone knows whether or not you can actually meet these stars in the Walk of Fame or have to have a "reservation" essentially just to get up to the table? I've been going to DCon for the past 11 years and this just gets more and more ridiculous.

Hey all! My cousin is coming to D*C for the first time, and was only able to book a room at a hotel by the Airport. Has anyone stayed that far from the con before? Any tips on transportation, etc? Is it going to be a huge PITA for him? Thanks in advance for any advice!

I just now saw on the Dragon Con website that Cary Elwes has canceled (Noooooo!). I had already pre-ordered a photo op with him. Will I automatically receive a refund or is there a process I need to go through?

Thanks!

Is there an Adventure time group doing a photo meetup or in the parade? I am doing a Fionna costume and would like to join one.

I'm trying to get ahold of 2 passes, preferably 4-day ones.  I can pay up to 100 including the transfer fee.
