If you follow The Culture of Pop and its many delightful interviews, recaps, and commentaries -- if you remember a gentleman in a yellow shirt back in 2009 who had a press pass and a microphone and a talent for putting anyone around him at ease -- if you were at all acquainted with Jeff Rosado, you probably already know that he passed away last night. I don't know what sort of memorial will be planned, but right now the webmaster is collecting memories of Jeffrey for future posting.
I hate trying to write condolence notes. It feels so awkward, perhaps because I know nothing I say will really make anything better.
Yet, having been on the other side, sometimes the only thing to get the most-affected mourners through another five minutes, much less another day, is having a card or a note talking about how the lost loved one mattered to someone else, in however large or small a way.
If you have any pleasant memory of Jeff at all, if you never met the man but enjoyed his recaps, anything -- please consider taking a few minutes to say so, over there. Maybe it won't help anyone now, but down the road it'll help the people who loved him most.
