Hyatt and rooms?

Obviously, it's not going to be like last year. Last year everyone opened the rooms for reservations at the same time, I think, and ALL of them sold out in minutes. It seems to be taking much longer this time.
What was it I saw on here about sports people sneaking reservations on the DragonCon room blocks?
Maybe that's what's missing this year.

I just got an eternal membership to Dragon*Con can I still volunteer?

I just got an eternal membership to Con and was wondering if I can still volunteer friends of mine have said that they were not sure if the $20 fee could be taken out of an eternal membership while my logic says it can I just wanted to make sure so I am not surprised when I try.
