Well, we all know it happens but this year it's happening A LOT even to my Space Track. I'm speaking of Guest Cancellations!! Space Track has now lost 2 guests: James Marsters and now Dr. Kevin Grazier, who has been a mainstay for the Space Track (and many other Tracks, as well) for years.

So - time to remove, add and rearrange:

Saturday, Sept. 4th
2:30pm - Kepler Telescope - Searching for a 2nd Earth - Dr. Angelle Tanner - Track Room
(this panel takes over the James Marsters time slot and was moved from Monday, Sept. 6th at 2:30pm)

5:30pm - Striking Ancient Skies - Richard Jakiel - Track Room
(this has been added to fill in the time slot of Kevin Grazier's, now canceled, 'Dawn' talk)

Monday, Sept. 6th
2:30pm - Total Solar Eclipse Coming to Georgia in 2017 – Be Ready! - Trina Ray - Track Room
(this had been added to fill in the time slot vacated by moving the 'Kepler Telescope talk to Sat. @ 2:30pm)

We will surely miss our much hyped James Marsters 'MoonShot' talk and Kevin Grazier's great stories and vast knowledge. We wish them both a wonderful year ahead and hope to see them back in 2011.

Last night I was fortunate enough to see the pre-screening of Roberto Rodriguez's Machete, which was created from the the fake trailer featured in Rodriguez's and Tarantino's 2007, Grindhouse. Recurring in Roberto's movies is actor and special effects master, Tom Savini. I was excited to see him playing Osiris Ampanpour, a bounty hunter, in this over the top gore-fest of a movie because I will see him in person this weekend at Dragon*Con.

We at the Dragon*Con Film festival are pleased to once again present him as a panelist at the year's 2010 Dragon*Con Film Festival. A longtime guest and trouble maker at Dragon*Con, Mr. Savini will be joining us at the film Festival this Saturday September 4th at 2:30pm, with "An Hour with Tom Savini". This panel has proven nothing but exciting in the past years at our festival.

Check out the rest of our Panel and Film School Seminars at the Dragon*Con Film Festival.

We'll see you all starting tomorrow!

I have a full badge for sale/transfer.  My loss is your gain.  Unfortunately I wont be able to make it for the Con any day so I am having to sell my ticket.  I can fill out the form and fax it to you.

I am asking $ 60 and you pay the transfer fee.  If interested email me and we can work out the payment.

Anyone attending with a car who is driving in and out each day, watch out if you park at the Georgia-Pacific Center. You can NOT get back in any of the garage entrances late at night to retrieve your car; you must go to the building's main walk-in entrance and be buzzed in by the security staff at the front desk, then cross a bridge behind the lobby to get back into the garage. Then you may find the payment machines' bill sliders non-working and have to buzz the intercom to be let out with your vehicle. Try one of the open-air lots instead if you can find one with space available, or a garage with clearly posted hours of operation. CORRECTION: This turned out to be true only on the night before the con (Thursday); the Courtland St. entrance is open and staffed 24 hours each day of the con itself. Apologies for the error.

Also, if you are looking to use free WiFi to get on the Net, the food court at Peachtree Center is the only place you can find it. The hotels' WiFi access in their lobbies is NOT free unless you are a paying hotel guest. With the exception of the Sheraton's Internet café, you will have to pay to get beyond the hotel's website if you don't already have some sort of cellular access.
