The Convention Fans Blog interviews Eric Watts, former director of TrekTrak

As everyone here has no doubt heard by now, Eric Watts, who ran Star Trek programming for Dragon*con for the past 17 years, was not asked back for 2010. Instead, Star Trek: Voyager actor Garrett Wang is the new Star Trek programming director.

Well, Eric recently gave a lengthy and rather comprehensive interview to The Convention Fans Blog about it all. He talks about his most memorable moments as director, his dismissal and it being leaked to the fan press, his new plans for the Star Trek convention he has launched, and whether or not he plans to attend Dragon*con 2010.

Even though he's no longer the programming director, I thought the interview might be of interest, especially since his dismissal caused a pretty big stir. I think it provides some closure as well.

Tolkien's Middle Earth Schedule Up!

We are excited to announce we have a tentative schedule up for this year's show.  We will be having two advanced costuming panels, along with panels to discuss the ongoing production of "The Hobbit" with  www.theonering.net   , Sean Astin will be conducting a panel,  arms and armor panel, AND MUCH MORE!!!

Working on updating the community list

Been backsliding on this thing and trying to get an early start...needless to say this list needs lots of updating...

Will put out an updated list over the 4th.

This will be a work in progress all the way to just before the con so keep additions, changes, and deletions coming.

Please only give currently active communities and sites. With all the live ones to keep up with, dont have the room for inactive ones whatever the reason may be. Also, please submit in lj comm/URL format/Twitter/Whatever as shown in the list as well. I wont be able to keep up the list if I have to go chase down the links or click link properties to get the info.
