I have been doing special effects/costume make-up for atleast 5+ years (but I do not have a license) , and was wondering;
Would anyone be interested in having an on-call girl to do your make-up at the Con? I'll be staying in the Hyatt, and you can come to my room and I'll doll you up, say for $10 a face, depeding on how crazy it gets. I have every color of any professional makeup you could imagine, and would use my own products, unless of course you wanted prosetetics, fake eyelashes or something, which I can apply and primp for you, but the product itself is your problem. Everyone will get their own throw away applicators and brushes, so there's no worry for bacteria or any of that oogie stuff. If I'm given advance notice I can have certain color eyelashes and stuff to match your outfit (which always looks hot!) Just wondering if anyone would be interested in this, please leave comments as I'm not sure about advertising for it just yet. Here's some examples of my work, on myself or customers, for you viewing pleasure. It's a bit large, so I'll put it behind a cut. Read more... )

Sorry I havent popped in of late..too much Real Life stuff...

Roughly a month to go before the con and we're at 1042 members, plus a number who havent joined but participate in here...again thanks to everyone...

I've revised The Community Rules a little bit and I imagine I'll tweak them some more...check them out if you would...

Since we're now in the home stretch to the con, would like to keep things here in the community on topic and focused on the con or things happening in Atlanta around the con period(know there's a big group in here looking to see Phantom of the Opera in Atlanta the Thursday before the con and no doubt there will be folks who plan to take in other happenings outside the con as well)...it's going to be mighty busy in here over the next several weeks and there will be plenty of on topic stuff to see and do...

Reminder: Anonymous comments are still and will continue to be screened due to problems in the past. I would suggest getting a free LJ account if you dont already have an account to participate in here. I pretty much unscreen any legit anon comments, but I cant promise or guarantee I'll see all of them or unscreen them all.

Email at dragonconlj @ yahoo.com if you have any questions.

Thanks again everyone!

Howdy fellow con goers and goths. Goettes. Goethe. I'm sorry, I'll come in again.

Hiya folks! I'm a member of the two organizations referenced in the subject (ARTC and MRAP for those acronymically minded among us), and wanted to welcome each and every one of you to our performances at this year's con. I'm not the official voice of either group, just an enthusiastic member who wants to see as many folks come out as possible. Details of our shows will be behind the cut (to spare disinterested parties the scrolling effort).

Details behind here. Check and see! )

I hope to see you there!

Freelancing is a tough road. Lots and lots of artists, merchants, designers, etc. actively try to make a living doing it. Travelling and working cons is WORK. The dealers rooms are places you can find things you just can't find anywhere else from some of the coolest people you would ever want to meet. Is it cheap? No. If you simply wanted to save a few bucks, go to Target.

In that same line, don't hamstring the dealers that PAID A LOT OF MONEY to have tables by side-stepping them and going to people that haven't paid the equivalent of Guild fees. It is just terrible Con Karma. If the dealers can't make ends meet, they don't come back. If they don't come back, how can you get that one-of-a-kind item? What would the con be like with a crappy dealer's room?

Is this a popular comment? No. Doing the right thing rarely matches doing the popular thing.

Thanks for listening...
