What is the difference between the Exhibit room and the Dealer room? I mean, I know there's more of a showcasing of product in the Exhibit room (new game demos, etc), but there are also some of the same people there that are in the Dealer room (like the DVD vendors, jewelry vendors, etc). I personally MUCH prefer the Exhibit room because I just get SOO claustrophobic in the Dealer room. The dealer room has low ceilings and vendors are packed in like sardines with little tiny aisles to get around. Not to mention how hard it is to get around other people's fairy wings and such! :-D

Anyway, just thought I'd ask.

Seriously.

If you've never been to Dragon*Con and are planning to attend this year, I'd love to hear from you.

Once again, JIVE Magazine will be covering the 'Con (as we've done in the past), but this year we're hoping to do a few features on what makes Dragon*Con so incredibly successful: The People. We'll be talking to guests, performers, fans and volunteers, asking them what pulls them in and what brings them back.

So naturally, if you've never been, we'd like to be there for your first time. The details are devilish and still in development, but if you're a first-timer (or know someone who will be) who is over 21 and plans to attend for at least three days, make sure you're LJ contact info is up-to-date and comment to this thread.

Who knows? We might just make you famous.

UPDATE: Okay. Initial emails are out to six of those who've expressed interest ... if you aren't one of them, that means you had no discernable email address in your contact info. We'll be sending out a second flock of emails tomorrow, so if you didn't get an email from us, fix that contact info! (Or, send a working email address to thomasatjive[at]gmail[dot]com.)

I'm trying to remember the name of the leather craft guy that has been at D*C for as long as I've been going. I always buy stuff from them, and am wanting to get a new leather band for my hair. Unfortunately, I've heard that they won't be back this year because of the mess with Anne McCaffrey and all, so I thought I'd 1) check to see if that's still the case and then, if so, 2) see if someone could let me know how to get in touch with them.

D*C is pretty much the only Con I attend, so it isn't like I'll be running into them anywhere else. If anyone has any contact info, or a web address, I'd really appreciate it.

Edit: [livejournal.com profile] spockmonkey so kindly gave me the web addie and I bounced on over and bought my new leather goods. They have great stuff, you should check them out! Austin Leather Works

Hi all!
I have finally finished my sortiment of DragonCon artshow pieces.
Now the question of which piece to put in the auction (I'm not sure,I know I can put atleast one as an amateur, right?) remains unanswered.
I was wondering if some here have a minute to spare and drop an eye here:
http://www.livejournal.com/users/cathuman/271871.html#cutid1

and tell me which piece you think would be best ((anonymus is open)). At a random I'd almost say NICI, but then again, I have never been to a big Con and I do also not know a lot about Cons (living in Switzerland/Europe. Fantasy-hate country graaagghhh)
Basically everything not marked with "sold" or "private" is "available" for the auction and lateron also on ebay.
Also, if you think there is a theme I missed and that I MUST have, please tell me
huge thankyou in advance <3

Hey all! I'm doing a panel this year on the YA Lit track about Lemony Snicket (A Series of Unfortunate Events) and wondered if you had some thoughts about what you'd like to hear covered.

See under cut for my thoughts )

I did this last year and made a couple of very groovy friends that I had a good time hanging out with at D*Con that I might not've met up with otherwise!

If you're interested in meeting people online that plan on attending D*Con so you'll have more friends when you arrive, post your contact info in reply to this post! Check back sometimes to see who's added on. : )

I'll start!!
