Okay, I'm reading all the things about photos and walk of fame and I'm just a little confused.

The Froggy things are like photo session right? Like, a professional photographer takes your photo with the star of your choice? Should these be purchased in advance or can I decide when I get there?

But if I just want to get an autograph, can I just get in line for that? What if my friend snaps a candid photo of me getting the autograph? Will I be jumped by the handlers in the area?

This is my first convention, so I'm new to this whole thing. Tips and tricks appreciated.

Yes those Froggy photos are like a photo session. They're fun! I bought mine the day of or the day before at the con and there wasn't a problem.

You can just get in line for an autograph, it's cool. But yeah the handlers will jump you. Maybe not jump you, but they will be very angry. There are usually signs all over that say "No Photos".

Hope that helps!

The photo thing depends on who you are talking about. I have had some celebs pose for candid shots with no problems before. Other asked for a donation to a charity. I would steer clear of any who are on Froggy's list, or any who are handled by Julie Caitlin Brown, as she is about as laid back as a rabid dog.

Is Froggy there from the Thurs then?

You can go get in line for just their autograph during the times they are in the Walk of Fame. That's a separate thing from the photos.

The photo ops you can decide when you get there, because I've never bought mine ahead of time. I do see that Patrick Stewart's are limited, but at that price I don't know that they will sell out.

Now on to a concern I have after looking at the Froggy site...since when the hell did they think Anthony Montgomery is going to be at the con? He is not listed anywhere on the D*C website.

Anthony Montgomery is listed here. Not all guests are listed on the front page of the website.

Yes Froggy is a professional photographer that you have a set time to get a picture with the star and you can pay in advance or pay when you get to DC.

If you are in the Walk of Fame and want to get an autograph, you usually purchase a picture from the person's table and they autograph it. So you pay for this. Some stars will let you take a picture with them and will sign an autograph of anything but there is a fee involved.

Some stars have handlers that will not let you take any pictures at all of the person and will tell you to stop with the camera before you take the picture. I know this has happened to me before.

Then there are so stars that will let you take their picture and will ham up for the camera. this happened for me last year too. It really depends on the star.

I hope this helps :)

Except for the Nimoy/Shatner/Stewart ones, I wouldn't worry about the photo-ops running out at the con. You can save a few bucks by buying there instead of online (because of PayPal fees). But it's cash only at the con. Froggy's sessions move rather quickly. You show up in the designated area, get in line once the celebrity arrives, and things start rolling. You get a few seconds to say hi and strike a pose, then it's on to the next person. My only suggestion is to get the photos done on Friday or Saturday in case something goes wrong. If something bad happens on Sunday, you don't have a day to make it up.

Yes, you wait in line in the Walk of Fame if you want to get autographs and chat with the guests for a brief period. You have a higher chance of getting a candid if your friend turns the flash off. Just be discrete and you can get away with it in most cases. However, some handlers could be in a bad mood, so be warned.

What if my friend snaps a candid photo of me getting the autograph? Will I be jumped by the handlers in the area?

Depends on who the person is. With James Marsters for instance, there will be a sign which says "No posed photos". But you're free to have a friend take some candid shots while you get your autograph. I like those better anyway than the awkward, leaning over the table posed photos.

I've always paid for my Froggy photo ops on the day I get them, with no problems at all. Cash only though. Make sure you get in line for the photo ops (separate from the ticket line) in a timely manner because once the line starts moving, it's pretty fast. You'll have time to shake hands with your chosen celeb, say hi, pose, say thank you and leave. Fast but fun.
