My girlfriend and I are getting passes through ticketmaster and since I go to school right down the street from the hotels, I was planning on picking up our badges after class on Thursday.  I've heard that you could pick up another person's badge if you have their ticket plus a signed note giving permission to do so. I was just wondering if anyone could tell me if this is true or not, so we can plan accordingly. Thanks!

I have done so using a copy of their driver's licenses, their confirmation paperwork, and a signed note from them indicating their wish that I pick up their badges.

I've had my brother (and will have our daughter this year), give me his stuff for badge pickup. I had him make a copy of his driver's license. On that piece of paper, I had him write:

"I, *your name*, do hereby authorize *badge picker upper's name* to pick up my Dragon*Con *insert year* badge."

Then I had him sign it. I also had his postcard, and had no problems whatsoever picking up his badge. :-D

No it is not on the website. It can be in an e-mail form, or a handwritten note as long as you have a copy of their license.

One thing everybody should know, we keep the notes at Pre-registration, and I shred them at the office later.

Excuse me, but is there a post/link somewhere that give exact details on how to pick up someone else's badge? I'm not asking that to be snarky, but I will be picking up my fiance's badge this year, and it would be nice to have complete instructions on "You will need this, this and this. Go stand in this line, and then go to this line," etc.

Congratulations! You have found a Frequently Asked Question. In particular, you have chosen Random Answer #1 (http://community.livejournal.com/dragoncon/tag/faq):

1) Yes, you can pick up your buddy's badge, utilizing the lovely instructions given here (http://community.livejournal.com/dragoncon/1605074.html?thread=14788818#t14788818).

When you meet Chip at the Solutions desk, remember to tell him that he's a good man!

(And, welcome to the one-month-to-Con fun! Glad to have you along. What's the one thing you're most looking forward to this year?)

Okay, but what lines do I stand in and what order? That's the question to which I can't seem to find an answer. My last name is F and my fiance's is C. Do I go through the regular F line, and then go to the solutions desk for his? Or do I head right to the solutions desk and get both at the same time?

I justy really want to make sure I maximize Con time and not piss off people behind me :/

If I remember correctly from last year, either plan is perfectly fine; in fact, there's often about as much of a line at Solutions as there is at a given letter. If it were me, I'd probably hit the Solutions line first once I get to the split-up poing where one line splits up into the alphabet segments. That way, if they do need you to get your badge at your letter, you can join the end of the F section; and if they don't, you've saved yourself an extra however-many minutes.

Ah, thank you SO much!! I was worried about making trouble and/or having to wait in three lines just because I have no idea what the heck I'm doing, hah. And my Dragon*Con Thursday Night involves Spock cake, a bachelorette party, and Tiki Puka Pukas at Trader Vic's, so I need to get through the line as fast as possible XD

But now I know (and knowing is half the battle).

Glad to be of service, cousin, and have a blast Thursday night: that sounds like a recipe for a GREAT start to Dragon*Con!

( ... "the split-up poing"? What the heck was my brain doing when I was typing that?! Sewing hasn't made me THAT insensible, has it?)

Through Ticketmaster, you will be asked to fill out a little white sheet with your information.
if you wish to pick up a second person's badge, fill out the sheet for that second person
