I usually stay at the Marriott, but this year I'll be at the Sheraton.  I'm not familiar with the parking situation at the Sheraton, so hopefully you all can help me out.  I've always understood that the general rule of thumb is to try to get to the con by Thursday afternoon if you're driving, since parking is difficult to find after that (I don't trust the public lots).   But it occurred to me that I don't know if that rule just applies to the Marriott, or to that area of Atlanta in general.  When I was staying at the Marriott, I always got there by noon on Thursday, so I never had any trouble.  But I'm wondering if I need to get there that early if I'm staying at the Sheraton.  Also, can anyone vouch for the security of the non-valet parking at the Sheraton?  The Marriott only had valet parking, but the Sheraton has both.  Thanks!

Park at MARTA. $4-7/day, and you usually don't even have to pay if you leave on a holiday.

There are lots at most MARTA stations, but not the downtown ones. Lindbergh station is the most popular choice for D*C.

It's probably safer, since it's a higher parking lot deck. Personally, I don't know. I've only parked there for an afternoon when I went to a class requirement. But I had a beat up piece of crap.
