Our 5th Con, this ones going to be the challenge.

Is there any given method, 'Eternal membership' for example to reduce the waiting time in celebrity lines at Dcon?

I have to ask, because I'm already contemplating just how we are going to do this. Maybe Sunday is the day for this stuff when everyone else is dead. I'll be dead also, but I'll also be determined ;)

No special treatment that I'm aware of. I recommend Saturday morning and Sunday morning for shorter lines.

If it's your 5th con, you know there's no getting around the lines ;-)

However, one gamble you can take is to wait at the guests' table while they're at a panel. Sure, you miss the panel, but you'll be at the front when they come back. This is what I did last year (not by choice mind you; I just gave up on a Firefly line).

Not a bad idea -- especially if you can catch the panel on DCTV later in the day. (Schedule'll be posted in the pocket program.)

No. A badge is a badge -- whether it's attending membership, eternal membership, staff membership... they're all memberships.

Saturday morning during the parade is probably the most dead time, though maybe not all the celebs will be there.

I'm not one to stand in those lines for autos, but the con's pretty dead on Friday from 1 until people get off from work. If I were hardcore going for those, I'd try then to see if any of your people have shown up. The con's also pretty dead on Monday, so try again then. However, you also run the risk of them not being there. Of course, you can always check the program and if they've got a panel later in the day, they'd probably be there. Good luck!

We've learned in our 11 years to try for as many signings as possible on Friday and we've been pretty successful getting them all that day. Then we don't have to stress the rest of the con. But we've resigned ourselves to missing things to do it... there's just no getting around that.

Skip the stuff with lines. Makes D*C extremely much more enjoyable.

In short...

You're doing it wrong.

With the exception of the Registration line, which can be avoided by planning or timing or spending lots of $$, you don't have to stand in a single line for D*C. Over 90% of the scheduled programming has no lines. If you are consistently only doing the few things with lines, don't complain. Do something else if the lines bother you so much. In the time you are standing in line for a single autograph I can visit all 3 dealer rooms, the art show, and see two panels.

Actually, they tend to spread out the Star Trek guests -- so Nimoy will have his own panels, Stewart will have his own panels, etc.

You can skip the registration line, which is pretty huge. No other lines per se, but you are allowed in the green room where only celebrities, guests, and eternal members are allowed. So in that respect, if you're lucky you could completely bypass lines to see a celebrity.
