My camera disappeared at the con. It's a small, silver-colored non-digital camera, possibly Olympus, with about 33 exposures already taken on the film.

They say six or seven cameras were stolen at the con. It's possible I simply lost it sometime after Saturday night (last time I used it) and Sunday, when I noticed it gone. Or someone swiped it when I was looking the other way, because at every con I've attended, you don't have to guard your bag. This was my first Dragoncon.

If it's been found, please contact me! I will happily pay postage and a small reward.

If it was stolen, please realize it's an ordinary film camera and therefore not worth all that much. But if you absolutely must keep it, please mail me the film. I beg you.

It's not just con pictures, although I'd love to keep my shots of Peter David and Harlan Ellison singing "If I Were a Rich Man" together and the photos of me and my fellow Dragon Ladies in our Saturday-night finery.

It also contains my son's fifth birthday party, a trip to the zoo, family events that can't be duplicated.

Please. No Questions Asked. For real.

Good luck with that.

Seriously. I "misplaced" a camera at DreamCon this year, and the pictures that were on it were irreplacable. It was a major downer in an otherwise amazing weekend.

I don't think that it was your camera, but I found a camera during the con, and turned it into security. You may want to contact them and see if anyone did turn it in, as I'm sure they have a big box of lost and found stuff still.

I hope someone turned it in and you get it back. Check with security, as was suggested already.

I worry constantly about my gear, as i carry quite a bit of expensive camera equipment with me. So this year I picked up a Dymo labeler and put my name and cell phone number on my cameras and equipment. I figured this way if something was lost and picked up one of the majority of con goers, i would get a call and get it back. I know it doesn't help now, but I'd recommend it in the future.

We're going to have a meeting soon, or at elast I think we are. :)(we security heads type people) and I'll check the lost and found then. But I fear that if you havent been contacted, it might not have been found yet. OR our collective brains havent stopped spinning enough to organize everything post con. :)

good luck.
