Reminder: This year you can now buy alcohol at retail outlets on Sunday in Atlanta

Also for those driving in like myself, I would suggest filling up your cars when you arrive...record gas prices for Labor Day are being predicted.

My apologies for the slowness this year. My ISP going crazy this week played havoc with getting stuff in here and approved.

Be safe and have a great con!!

If your trip includes driving through South Carolina, our gas is cheaper than Georgia's -- in fact, I think we have the cheapest gas in the country.

Gasbuddy.com is awesome, btw - and they have a mobile app.

YES. THIS. I plan on topping off in Raleigh-Durham right before I leave, because then I won't need to fill up again until South Carolina, and maybe I'll even top off again in South Carolina for the final stretch into Georgia, just to make sure that I have enough gas to get me back into South Carolina after Con. I ALWAYS plan on stopping for gas in SC, yay cheap gas.

North Carolina, on the other hand, has what I think are the highest gas taxes in the Southeast. Sigh. Good thing I drive a little Civic.

Cheapest gas along I-20 is at exits 22 (currently $3.44) or 11 ($3.39) in SC.

On I-85, your best bet is right before the GA border at exit 4/Fair Play (currently $3.45).

And if you must fill up/top off in Georgia, do it OUTSIDE I-285. The suburbs are much cheaper than in town!

Definitely, and if you can make it almost-but-not-quite to the border, do so as the areas right on the border have to compete with the gas stations just across the line. The exception is I-20 westbound toward Birmingham, where the reverse happens - the gas stations in AL raise their prices for parity with the GA stations. Best to wait till the Anniston/Talladega exits in that case.
