A few General Announcements

Hey all...almost D*C time...and this weekend my ISP decides to go dead with me hence things have been spottier than usual for this week...but we'll get thru...

A few announcements:

1) The big one: Georgia updated their Sunday drinking laws and you now CAN BUY BEER AND LIQUOR AT RETAIL OUTLETS ON SUNDAY in the City of Atlanta...the liquor stops around the hotel can be pricey and they may get really pricey on Sunday so prepare ahead.

2) Between LJ mishaps and local ISP mishaps I've had a time updating the Community List...I'll get somewhere Monday and put out a "final" version though I'll accepts edits thru late Tuesday.

3) Also looking to have an updated Downtown Maps and Guides Entry....Atlanta Downtown has finally updated their maps for 2012 so there will be new stuff there.

4) I'll be in transit to the con Wednesday, so will enter Master Post Mode while in transit. As every year, will endeavor to have the community open during the con. Post Con Master Post Mode will happen on Monday the 3rd likely before the con closes.

5) Shameless Self Promotion: I will again be working at the Holistic Design booth again from 1-4 on Fri and Sat in the Marriott Exhibitor's Hall next to the Troma booth.
Come by and love us with money. If you dont find me there(or even if you do), I'll be stumbling about in the big Guinness hat as usual during the evening hours.

6) I finally joined the Smartphone world and have the D*C app. Let me know if you want a friend code or just send me one at dragonconlj@yahoo.com.



7) As always, the sad announcement I make every year:


Once More, Wayne Newton will NOT be playing Atlanta during Dragon*Con.


However, Lynyrd Skynyrd WILL be playing Saturday Night after the Braves game at Turner Field.
(The Braves will also be running a Days of D*C promotion during the con....they will be playing at home each night of the con and the Tuesday after).



Oh yeah, as of this post, Adam Baldwin HAS NOT CANCELLED!!

Heaps of fellow fans, friends and others are piling into my house pre Worldcon... they all leave for the hotel by Wednesday and I leave Chicago for Dragoncon on Thursday morning.

Last I checked, neither Tom Jones or Wayne Newton were here in Chicago either!

I won't believe that Adam hasn't cancelled (bless his heart) until my group stands beside him in our multicolored Jayne costumes and have our photo taken with him. Then I *might* believe he's there. *grin*

I know in the past you have allowed reservation transfers on this community during the last few days before the con, but as I'm available to moderate dragonconrooms up to and even during the convention, I don't think you would have to make a master post for that if you don't want to.
