Not sure if this was posted here yet. Figured some may not have seen the Facebook post. I assume most everyone knows about the smartphone app that has the schedule in that can be downloaded now. But Friday, DragonCon announced on Facebook that if you don't have a smartphone, you can access the early schedule online with this url: http://m.core-apps.com/dragoncon11/

I've tried it out a lot. It is really, really slow and doesn't always work as planned. Try clicking things multiple times. But it is seriously awesome to have this the week before the con.

while that is nice I want the PDF - I want to be able to see everything scheduled at a certian time on one page. I don't want to have to sit there and click every entry to see what it's about and who will be there.
Call me lazy if you want but to me that is just a little disorganized for planning - for getting around and checking the 'right now' events or upcoming it's probably fine, but I want the old fashioned grid. ;(

I'm glad I'm not the only one. One serious short-coming of the app for me is that I cannot double-book a time-slot. With the paper version, I tend to highlight multiple things at any given time, then pick out the one of most interest/that I'm closest to when the time rolls around. Should that panel be full (or should I be in the Hyatt and decide that walking to my next panel at the Sheraton sounds like a perfectly awful idea), I have plenty of other options to choose from.

On the FB page, they did say they were working on the PDF. It sounds like different groups of people are working on different things (iPhone app, Android app, PDF file) and that the PDF people are working madly to finish their portion. That's the one that goes to print and cannot be updated once sent out, so they're probably trying to change a bunch of things due to last-minute big-name cancellations.

May be that programming is slightly different for platforms. I'm able to star events and it will list multiple events in the same time slots on the app's internal calendar. I have not tried dropping multiple events in to my phone's calendar. iPhone 4 utilizing latest IOS. I like hard copies for backup, however, I like the alternative e-version, but both for different reasons. At the conclusion of con (blasphemy for even thinking about it before it starts) I'm sure DC staff would love to have input on how not only the app can be improved (or what was sufficient) but how the entire experience was for everyone.

I was just about to comment saying that; glad I read yours first, so I can just second it! I can definitely double book a slot with the iphone app.

I'm using the Android app. Last time I tried using it, I could star more than one thing, but only the most recently starred item would show up on my schedule. The latest update seems to be allowing me to show more than one thing on my schedule though. Yay! :D

(I still like my color coded version though, but I admit I can be a tad obsessive. Perhaps it is something that I will suggest after the con.)

and there's at least two errors with the pullout grids (and the standalone grid pdf)

On EFF track saturday night, the 8:30 panel is in the 10pm slot, the 10pm panel is in the 11:30 slot, and the 11:30 is missing.
The Friday night is missing the 11:30 panel.

All of them are listed correctly in the track description pages (around page 30/31)

I hope they'll do a Google calendar again. I've found that extremely easy to use the last couple of years, and really convenient for copying events to a shared calendar among multiple people.
