EDIT: I have found a buyer! :D Mods, you may remove this post if you wish. Thank you for allowing me to post this here!

My wife and I are planning on dressing up as Sam Carter and Janet Fraiser for this year, and I have been desperately trying to find an Air Force uniform skirt for the Janet costume. I found one online store that sold them and their largest size was a 14. Since I wear a 12, I thought that would be good. Apparently no one told me that the Air Force (and military in general) run their sizes very small. I was actually told this when I called to return it. The skirt is actually more of a size 8 and does not fit me at all. I have since ordered a size that will fit me from elsewhere, but the store does not accept returns. So I have a skirt that I will not wear and no one I know would fit into it.

I paid $28 for it, but I will take $20 plus $5 for shipping. I'll also deliver at Dragon*Con if the buyer wants to do it that way and skip shipping costs all together.

If anyone is interested, please comment on this entry or send me a Personal Message. Thanks!

EDIT: Please only comment if you are actually interested in the skirt or someone who might be. I am not interested in social commentary about clothing sizes.

Looks like a UK14 which is a US 10. Hope you manage to find a buyer.

The uniform sizes tend to run towards *accurate*. It's commercial sizes that are being fudged more and more every year.

totally agreed. My wife use to work for a high end clothing retailer, and since the 80s, sizes have grown much larger for the 'feel good' factor. Oh look, I'm only a size 6..hah

If you ever go out and try to buy vintage clothing from the 80s or concert t shirts, you will find that they run much smaller than current commerical sizes. The government doesnt play that game.

Our society has an obesity problem the manufacturers are using it and sizing as a marketing tool.
