Oh, I've been reading them. I'm all caught up (thanks to the library 'cause I'm not buying them any more) and while they've gotten better, they still aren't great. This last one she called a novel and it was more like a slightly long short story and not a lot happened.

I enjoy LKH, loved having a few words with her a couple of years ago, looking forward to hearing her again this year!

I haven't seen True Blood yet -- no TV at our house, we live off Netflix -- but have heard it's a pretty interesting adaptation of the books so far. In addition to the cast, are any of the series writers showing?

It takes some major dramatic shifts away from the books, especially in season 2, but in my opinion they're shifts that make everything a lot more interesting and involving. I sort of think of the books and the show as two separate entities at this point, which allows me to enjoy them both. :) S1 should be available through Netflix, S2 won't be out until May.

I used to be a LKH fan but she lost me right around Obsidian Butterfuly and Narcissus in Chains .

I am a True Blood fan though and I'm super excited about Lafayette coming to Dragon * Con this year. And if Eric were to come...well that would probably put me in a fangirl coma!

i agree, I love to read over the series up to obsidian butterfly. Those are my fav but i continue to read her books. The direction she has taken is not for me but i love her early work.

Just my own opinion but i love LKH...i have just started rereading her Anita Blake books( i really really need to pick up the next book after number four) and her Meredith Gentry series is good too(read all of them over and over) As for true blood..havent had time to sit down and watch it..

Her early work is good, but as some have said and I echo, she stops writing about her characters after Obsidian Butterfly and starts writing about her sexual fantasies after that book.

According to her, everything her character has experienced, she has experienced... I find it hard to believe about the massive orgies required to save the city have to happen multiple times a week.. ;p

I'm super excited; I was just saying that I would love to see Sam and Lafayette at D*C. That being said, I have purely selfish reasons for wanting to see Eric added to the list. I have a friend (who adores him), and has totally backed out on going with me to D*C (as well as screwing up three costume groups). It would be a perfect "HA" if Eric were added to the guest list. :-D

I'm so excited about the "True Blood" actors joining us this year. I cannot wait for the panels, as I hear the actor that plays Pam is a hoot.

Now we need Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten, and Alexander Skarsgård just to hear them speak in their normal voices. The hotness involved is just a bonus. :)

I have a guilty soft spot for her Merry Gentry books, even though I cannot conceive of a bigger Mary Sue than Merry Gentry, and the books are basically just her thinking of more ways to incorporate sex. And yet...I still read them XD.
