I know I've seen it posted before but can't locate it...so....can anyone tell me where some liquor stores are within driving distance that aren't crazy expensive and have a good selection...and also a Target and Publix?

Any help would be sweet....thanks!

I think you don't mean liquor stores, down here we refer to those as places that sell, well, liquor. Target and Publix can sell you only beer and wine. If you happen through Midtown, definitely hit up Mac's - has a parking lot, has cash discounts, the works - on W Peachtree just south of 10th.

I second Mac's. Its close to con, and they have a pretty good selection. I'll be going to Green's myself tho...

The closest Publix is at Piedmont and North, and the closest target is at Atlantic Station. Just go up Peachtree headed north away from the con and the downtown area. Take a left on 17th street and the Target will be up on the right about a mile and a half down.

you don't have to use that god awful parking deck when you go to the target at Atlantic Station; they've got plenty of parking right out front.

Mac's is good, but kind of pricey.

Greens on ponce is the best liquor store close to con. It's also, conveniently, in the same lot as a kroger, so you can get all your shopping done at once....

From con, you would go down piedmont (it's a one way), then make a right on ponce. You'll see a big shopping center on your right after a few lights. Green's is there, as is kroger.

Enjoy!

There is a Target, a Kroger, and a Liquor store in the Little Five Points area, and it's only about 3 miles away from the Hyatt.

Target: 1275 Caroline St NE, Atlanta, GA‎ Map (http://maps.google.com/maps?oe=utf-8&client=firefox-a&ie=UTF8&q=target+edgewood+shopping+center&near=Atlanta,+GA&fb=1&split=1&gl=us&cid=0,0,7919193370468958448&ei=47CeSoqdPMS3tweA57yKCQ&ll=33.759187,-84.347191&spn=0.01561,0.016351&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A)
You will see the Kroger just across the parking lot from the Target.

Liquor Store: 448 Moreland Ave NE, Atlanta, GA Map (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=little+five+points+package+store&sll=33.75841,-84.347858&sspn=0.01561,0.016351&gl=us&g=1225+Caroline+Street+Atlanta+GA+30307&ie=UTF8&ll=33.765038,-84.348435&spn=0.015163,0.016351&t=h&z=16&iwloc=A)
The Liquor store has free parking, so, if anyone tries to stop you to tell you that you have to pay to park there, tell them you're just going to the liquor store, and they'll let you through.

And here are directions (http://maps.google.com/maps?f=d&source=s_d&saddr=265+Peachtree+Street+NE,+Atlanta,+GA+30303-1294+(Hyatt+Regency+Atlanta)&daddr=448+Moreland+Ave+NE,+Atlanta,+GA+30307-1423+(Little+Five+Point+Liquor+Store)&hl=en&geocode=CeITCCCL0rmnFVYpAwId1ln4-iFfeoayGDwp5w%3BFUs8AwIdiO_4-iHFZYjp1nGUNA&gl=us&mra=pe&mrcr=0&sll=33.770586,-84.400406&sspn=0.499437,0.523224&ie=UTF8&t=h&z=14) to get from the Hyatt to the Liquor store, and the Kroger and Target are just south of there on Moreland.

Hope this helps!

Trader Joe's (cheap wines and beers, occasionally cheaper foods, no liquor) (Directions (http://www.mapquest.com/maps?1qn=Atlanta+Marriott+Marquis&1c=Atlanta&1s=GA&1a=265+Peachtree+Center+Ave+Ne&1z=30303&1y=US&1l=33.761578&1g=-84.38604&1v=ADDRESS&2qn=Trader+Joe's&2c=Atlanta&2s=GA&2a=931+Monroe+Dr+Ne&2z=30308&2y=US&2l=33.779841&2g=-84.369279&2v=ADDRESS))
931 Monroe Dr Ne Atlanta, GA 30308

Mapquest calls it a 5 minute, 2 mile drive. I personally haven't been to this location, so I can't vouch for parking or anything, but I can vouch for the wine selection (You can't go wrong with $2.79 a bottle). I've also price-compared, and you can get a lot of things cheaper at Trader Joe's than you can at Publix, but they don't have the brands you're used to.

Here is the map that I made for D*C this year. It has the most immediately surrounding liquor stores and Publix to the downtown area. I do recommend Mac's Liquor as it is right off a Marta stop (north of downtown) and there is a Publix near by also.

I was just talking to the owner of the tower convenience store {sign on the building reads " souvenir and gift shop" and he wanted me to let people know he is planning on staying open til midnight friday and saturday. The shop is at the corner of peachtree and baker next to the chinese resteraunt. No booze but he is pretty well stocked on drinks, smokes and snacks.
