D*C PARADE LAST CALL!

Giving everyone a last call warning. While I originally set an August 15 deadline to sign up for the parade, I believe I will be closing registration within the next couple of days. There are precious few spaces left in the parade at this time.  As of this post any new sign ups, either via email or our yahoo group database, will be taken 'first come, first registered' until the remaining parade slots are filled.  Based on the current numbers, there will be no at-on sign ups for the parade again this year.

Note that I cannot accept any more vehicles (cars, trucks, floats). We are at max capacity.  Bicycles, unicycles, mobility scooters, motorcycles & motor scooters and the like will be considered on a case-by-case basis.  If you've already registered and mentioned you'll definitely have or are thinking of having a vehicle in the parade, I've counted you in my master db already.  If you thought you'd have a vehicle but now know you will not - please let me know!

Also, if you have registered as an individual but are a member of a group signed up to march, please let me know ASAP.  Your place in the parade should be secured through the group you are involved with and individual members of groups do not need to take any action. I don't want to double count and subsequently deny someone else the opportunity to march.

Brandon Sanderson's on the guest list this year and I was wondering if anyone else was going to be doing costumes based on his books. I will be wearing my Elantris costume one day and possibly my Mistborn another day (though I've worn that one a couple of times before; it's just I don't have a lot new costumes this year). I would love to meet up 

Thurdsday Night Countdown to D*C

So I posted this on the two FB pages and Dragonconforums so I might as well post it here. Last year a nice young lady organized a HAPPY NEW DRAGON CON YEAR’S PARTY. Since a lot of us look forward to D*C all year long it only makes sense to count down to the Official Start of D*C (Friday 08/31/12). Which is weird since Thursday is the new Friday and Wednesday is the new Thursday! Anywhooo…I wanted to see if we could turn this countdown into an all over Con thing. The official countdown party is scheduled for Thursday night at the Pulse Loft but if everyone could just remind people wherever they are to countdown at midnight I think it would be awesome!!

   I was just wondering where I can locate a printable schedule of events for D*Con this year?  I know it's tentative and will probably change, but I do not have a smartphone (so no apps), and have had trouble finding a PDF or doc version on the Dragon Con site.

UFC fight Dragoncon weekend.

My boyfriend and I are going to Dragoncon this year. Apparently there's a really important UFC fight going on Saturday night that weekend that my boyfriend wants to watch while in Atlanta.

Who out there knows the Atlanta area and can tell me where there is a decent sports bar near Dragoncon to watch the fights?

Pern and Game of Thrones Wedding

Joesph Hand will be marrying Valerie Hampton in the Pern track room, Sunday 10pm. The wedding will have PERN and Game of Throne themes. There will be light refreshments. Also all reserved guests will get favors; and their will be prizes too.

Transportation from Airport

Anyone have advice on how to get from the airport to the Marriott or how not to?  My sister is flying in and what to giver her the best option to get there.
