We got a lot of great feedback during our "Defend Your Game" and "Post MMOrtem" panels today, but I wanted to reach out to the LJ community and solicit some feedback on how we can improve the MMO track for next year.  4 years as a track, and I still feel like we're on the learning curve.  If there is anything we can do to improve your experience next year, I'd love to hear about it.

Thanks for a great Dragon*Con 25!

Hello, does anyone have a video of the Carrie Fisher panel from Sunday? I absolutely have to have it and can't wait two months to buy it, lol.

On that note, where would I buy it anyways? I went to dragoncontv.com and didn't see where to buy ANY vids.

Thanks guys!

ETA: I would also love any pictures you guys have-- I'm the girl who got to kiss Carrie Fisher and I've been looking everywhere for pictures, haha. I did find that CNN article but I want pictures of us actually kissing : )

Went ahead and booked for next year as we were checking out. Just a heads up that the Con price for the Hilton is jumping from 188 +tax per night to 202 +tax per night. With tax the total is $232 per night.

Edited to Add:  Since there is some confusion, I would like to say that price is for a room with one king bed and two people. I'm sure the price is more for more beds/people.

Thank you to all who came and enjoyed our panels. Please let me know what you enjoyed (and conversely, did not enjoy) so that we can improve your experience for next year.

And for my part, thank you to the best volunteer staff ever!

I wanted to make a quick shout out to the wonderful Klingons who came to my aid when there was a quick "evac" (turns out later a mistake by an over zealous temp cop) of a portion of the Marriott lobby Saturday.  And this isn't the first time these helpful souls came to the rescue of this damsel.
Last year, in the food court, I was about to be thwarted in my attempt to go to Willy's for a much anticipated burrito.   It seems the designers made a total f*ck up when they added a two step up with NO way around to that eatery alone.  (which btw BOO HISS to Willey's for being so short sighted).  As I was about to turn away, four handsome Kronosians came up from behind and like I was Cleopatra that lifted my chair and all to the counter and returned when I left.
Saturday, as I was being jostled about in the slightly panicked crowd, the only direction to my hotel up hill, two men in full Klingon garb, took over my transport, shouting (in a good natured way, well ya know) for the way to be clear.  I thought they'd just take me to level ground, but instead got me all the way to the Hilton elevators.  They turned a nerve racking situation into a laughter filled adventure.  I didn't get their real names.  (And my Klingon is a bit rusty), but to my heroes I send a hug and a kiss.  You are a credit to your race.

To the Toki cosplayer who came to the Venture Bros. party at the Pulse Loft:
Thanks for being a good sport when I asked to hug you- your costume was wonderful!

- Love, short blond girl who freaked out when you came up the stairs

To the Tracey Turnblad cosplayer wearing the roach dress:
I wanted to tell you how much I adored your costume, but I was in a bit of a hurry. If you heard someone shrieking "Hairspray!!" near the Sheraton, it was me.

- Love, a fan

To the Adventure Time group I met waiting in line for Ralph Bakshi:
You guys are awesome- thanks for letting me hang with you for a while.

- Love, female sword-wielding Finn

And finally, to the Dragon*Con staff:
Thank you for putting on one hell of a show. It might just be my favorite con yet.

- Love, tenshihitomi

I, like everyone else, am still recovering from this weekend -- but while I still have a teeny tiny bit of inertia left, I wanted to thank everyone who came to see us this year! I know we were all disappointed when health issues forced Anne to cancel -- no one was more bummed than she was -- but somehow we still had our best year EVER. Panels we expected to be relatively sparsely attended were packed to bursting; you guys even filled Vinings up at 10am on Monday morning! We're gonna need a bigger room next year! (Especially for Dragon Sex, amirite?)

We would love it if anyone who attended our little track would post your pictures, stories, and feedback on our Facebook page. Or, if you're lazy like me, a nice tweet to @weyrfest would suffice. ;>

I would like to thank my staff: Robert Raney, Gloria Adams-Hanley, Hisham "H" El-Far, Margaret "MJ" Johnson, Emery Young, and last but CERTAINLY not least, my patient, beautiful Second, Angel Adams, without whom I simply could not function.

We couldn't believe how many people raised their hands when we asked who was new to the con, and even how many of you had never read Pern before, but came to us through friends, word of mouth, and plain ol' curiosity. I hope you had as much fun as we did, and we can't wait to see you next year! Just 359 days left. :D

Clear skies!
