Some folks out there have come up with the brilliant idea to get D*C into the Guinness Book for the largest group of folks doing the thriller dance all together at once. I don't think there's been a recent update from them but it would only take 243 people from what I understand and I'm sure this can be done. This is their facebook: http://www.facebook.com/group.php?gid=94488259317 . If anyone knows more about this, I wanna  hear it! Especially with MJ passing, I'm sure the interest could be drummed up.

I just wanted to post that there are still slots available for Ann Crispin's Basic Writing Workshop.  I'm a former alumnus of this and her Advanced class, both of which have been a major influence in my becoming a freelance, now award-winning writer (as part of BAD-ASS FAERIES 2: JUST PLAIN BAD), who'll be on a few panels at Dragon*Con this year.

Ann has become a friend and mentor, and she mentioned that she needed to fill the course this year, so I'd love to give it the plug it deserves.  Not only is Ann a great teacher, but I've made some excellent friends and networking colleagues through this class.  Other A.C. Crispin alumni are Eugie Foster (who has had a few hundred short stories published) and Cat Rambo (editor of Fantasy Magazine also with very many short stories published).

In any case, I can't say enough about this workshop. If you're a writer starting out, it is a powerful tool!  For more info about the workshop and how to sign up, check here:  http://www.dragoncon.org/writers_workshop.php

Has the progress report been sent out? Neither I nor my two roomies have gotten them.

Please forgive me in advance for this. I believe it may have been discussed before but I can no longer remember if it was, or what was said.

The dummies guide to lines

Please enlighten me as to how the sheraton will be more beneficial this year for the con registration. We (myself and wife) were there last year and we swore never to use it again- multiple issues. The brochure speaks of a shorter line .. but there are still going to be masses of people attempting to register.

I'm not an idiot, I'm just trying to see this with logical clarity. The Sheraton is a block or so away from the other host hotels and the means of travel is difficult if you are using a motorised device or aid due to disability. The 'security' they have at this hotel were in need of training, directing the crowd rather than asking questions. I don't want to be directed down to the lower level of the sheraton when I need to go through the lobby to the elevator. I'm sure the staff and volunteers have good reasoning, I just can't *see* it.

I don't see the benefits, would somebody kindly enlighten me.

Most sincerely

(Droogy) Rob
