I'm going to be bringing my fiance with me to Con, but he doesn't really have any fandoms?

I've never had this particular problem before. I don't want to force him to go to a bunch of panels that he probably won't enjoy. I'm *trying* to get him into the Whedonverse, and I know he'll love the Buffy Horror and Rocky Horror Pictures Shows. Anything musical will more than likely be interesting for him...

but what about the rest of the time? He doesn't socialize well. Anyone want to volunteer to be my boy's con-buddy while I'm off gallivanting?

Hi, some of you folks may remember me as the host of four photoshoots/gatherings/meetups last year. Well, this year I'm at it again, and am in fact hosting five!

The Dragon*Con Film Fest has posted the short film descriptions. There are so many great films this year. Go here to check them out.

As the subject heading says, if one was interested in joining Dragon*Con staff at the con, how would they do that?  I noticed that the staff application form on the site says the form and fee must be in no later than today (unless I hopefully misread that).  Since I can't teleport to Georgia from New Jersey, what other options are available to a serial con staffer that knows of no other way to spend time at a con?

Sadly my son and I will not be able to attend Dragon*Con this year.  I am selling our two tickets for $50 each.  Remember the $20 transfer fee!  I can only take money orders.  Thank you!  Email me at ehack302@aol.com

A friend from New York has just now decided he is coming down for D*C.  If anyone is selling a membership, please let me know!  Thanks!

Hi everyone!  Seeing as this is my first Dragon*Con (and I'm excited as hell), I had a few questions I was hoping you guys would be able to answer.   Thank you in advance for looking and answering!

1.  My godfather bought me some photo op reservations through Froggy's.  I have heard not to do the reservations, but seeing as he's already bought them, what can I expect?

2.  In relation to question #1, should I expect to possibly miss some panels and/or the meet & greet with the parade group I'm marching with (he bought them for friday)?

3.  I already know to plan maybe 1 or 2 things and then let fate handle the rest.  Are there any events I shouldn't miss besides the parade?

4.  Here is the most important.  I found a roommate on the room board [Bad username or unknown identity: about a week ago that is male and 40.  My family isn't quite happy with the arrangement, nor are the people I work with.   Has anyone had, or does anyone know about, any serious issues with roommates found this way?  I've made some rules quite clear with him, but I would feel better if I knew....  ]

I know these sound redundant, but seriously if I have to keep answering these, I will go nuts. So if you have a friend who bought Ticketmaster, please pass this along.

1. Q:  I have bought a membership through Ticketmaster for a friend but the ticket is in my name. What do I do?
A:  Give your friend a note from you saying that you bought it for them. That is sufficient.

2. Q: How do I get my information for my badge( badge name, address, etc, etc.)?
A: When you get to the show, you will fill out a small sheet for all pertinent information. You can do it early by filling out a membership form, which is on the website. ( Yes, it is) Under the Ticketmaster link on the website, there is a link which offers a membership form in pdf format. Fill this out and bring it with you.

3. Q: But Ticketmaster says $80, is this right?
A: Yes. We took into account their service charges and lowered the price.

4. Q: What if my ticket does not get to me in time?
A: If you ordered online, you should have an e-mail receipt. Bring this with you

Any more questions I can think of, I will addendum this

I have asked a few times for anybody who payed through Paypal and did not receive a yellow postcard to contact me. Many of you have(thank you), some still haven't.
As you all know, the office closes today, and we print your badges next week. So if you still have not gotten your card, follow these steps.

 1. If you ordered through Paypal, but never received a card:
     a. Chances are you have a membership so bring photo ID and you should be able to get your badge,
     b. If you still feel iffy on this, bring a receipt printout with you. If your badge is not there, go to the solutions desk where I can fix it. As many of you have been helping me get corrections done early(once again thank you), there should be no more than a small line at most. Not like 4 years ago, for those who remember that.

 2. If you ordered through the Dragon Con store, but never received a card: read above

 3. If you are transferring and have not done it yet, go straight to solutions.  It will be taken care of there.

 4. If you want a badge name change, there but do not want to stand in 2 lines in one day, I would suggest you come early on Saturday and get it done then.

 5. Remember there will be lines, but we are working to get you guys out as quick as possible. The mazes are separated into Pre-registration, On-site Registration, and Ticketmaster. Here are some helpful hints:
    a. If you have a disability, go directly to Disability Services and let them take care of you.
    b. Do not jump over the rails in a rush,  this causes the rails to fall, and you will have to pick it up.
    c. If you have pre-registered but cannot make it until Saturday, we will send people out to bring you in. If you have your card or Ticketmaster receipt,  security should let you in and show you the proper lanes.

 6. Speaking of Saturday, get there early. I mean EARLY. We open at 8 am and the line will build. Trust me, ask anybody. The big line happens after the parade.

Any more and I will post next week.

Hey all. I'm looking for a pirate-looking belt/corset belt that can fit a 32" waist. All the ones I liked on ebay are from Hong Kong and won't make it to me by the time I leave for D*C. Anyone have one they are selling?

Here is the time and places to be for CJ Bloomer and mythic art fans to make note on their schedules.  It will be a "must attend" for those who love old school fairy tales and myth from around the world.

ART003: Exploring the Mythic Image - We will explore common themes & ideals that make a Mythic Image while utilizing the theories of other great minds like Joseph Campbell, Carl Jung, Mircea Eliade, Robert Graves, etc. Get ready to interact with an artist who steeps in perpetual myth. CJ Bloomer - Friday 4:00 PM - Hanover F

Don't forget to check out the art show where you will be able to view and purchase one-of-a-kind works of fine art by Mr. Bloomer (in the Grand Hall East in the Hyatt) and the bazaar where you can meet the artist himself.  Only 13 days to go, can't wait to meet everyone!

Considering Azio's for a Poly Weekly meetup during Dragon*Con--considering 8:30 p.m. on Friday (after my talk on using social media/podcasting to build community) , with $6 martinis. Or perhaps a place for brunch on Sunday at noon? I'd prefer that, actually, but I can't seem to find a place near the Hilton. Thoughts?
