Help with costume

So this will be my first year at Dragon*Con and I'm overly excited and a bit freaked out. I'm planning on doing the Princess Leia Metal bikini (only if I get myself in shape). I also want to do the Caprica 6 red dress from Battlestar Galactica but I'm having a hard time finding a similar dress. I can't sew and I don't want to yet again ask my mom to help me out. Any suggestions?

Can I just say that I'm loving the guest list so far?
