Cosplay ideas for the n00b

Oh, it didn't even cross my mind to mention, but since there seemed to be a bit of confusion in the comments, I'm a girl. Sorry about the mix up.

Okay, so I have decided to cosplay. I also wear glasses. (What a geek who wears glasses, that's new!) I'm not looking to cosplay a character who wears glasses, but I am not against it either. Who you fellow four-eyes out there, how do you handle that situation?

Do you just cosplay and keep your glasses on or do you stash them away and go about the con blindly? (I'm also pretty anti-contact lenses. Four eyes pride and all that.)




Me, for the record. I dig bakeware.

I was thinking of something relatively simple, since it is my first time.

1.An engineer from BSG.
2.One of the soldiers from the Planet Terror segment of the film Grindhouse.
3.Cherry Darling from the Planet Terror segment of the film Grindhouse.
4. Agent Scully
5.Random Slytherin student

Any tips or advice from the experienced will be appreciated.

How do you do it????

How do you do your costumes for Dragon Con?

I start a costume and do not finish until it is complete down to the last detail.
I sew all the basics first then go back and add details, that way at least I have the basic costume.
I do what ever time, money and availability allow me to do.
I have little elves that come into my house at night and make my costumes for me.
Who needs a costume, I am sexy/scary/weird enough without it.

but, i am also working security as well.

I have always been a maker of costumes and been a big geek(went to all 3 prequel star wars premeres in full costumes with friends).

this year, in my off time, I plan to be dressed as Alucard from Hellsing.

I am pretty creative with making things from nothing or something else, a kind of costuming alchemy. so if you need help, drop me a line and i can atleast point you in the right direction of who can help you if I cant.
