This is my first post in here [or anywhere outside of my LJ page], so hopefully i am doing this right...
I am posting random pics from my phone came at http://broo2.textamerica.com; they are fairly low-res and prettty terrible in low light, but these are updated randomly throughout the day.
I am posting pics from my digial camera in the afternoon on http://dc2004.brooskie.com. They are either 3 or 6 MP, but you can use the options on site to scale them to what-ever size you want. Some are pics from the panels I have atteneded, so I will go back and add some comments to the pics after the con is over.
I am headed back in for day three; have fun all!

Dragon*Con 2003 DVD

Emailed to Pat Henry and others. If anyone else has seen this, I encourage you to email them as well and voice your displeasure.
It was with great excitement that I headed immediately to the Dragon*Con store on Saturday to purchase my copy of the DVD from last year's Dragon*Con produced by Savage Armadillo productions. We made a point to make this our first stop because we were so excited to see the DVD from the previous year.
After spending a fun-filled day at DC on Saturday, we immediately put the DVD in when we got home. Boy were we in for a surprise.
To be quite frank, this is one of the poorest quality DVD's I've ever seen. The fact that this was produced by an alleged professional Production Company makes the thought even worse.
The audio was so horrible that you can't even hear half of the interviews. Why produce a DVD and the have the audio in Mono instead of Surround Sound (at a bare minimum, a stereo video camera can be purchased from Best Buy for under $300) when the capability is there? The use of a "prop" microphone by the interviewer made the situation even worse. The people she was interviewing were purposely directed to talk into the prop so during the interviews, not only can't you hear them because they aren't facing the microphone on the recorder, but they have their head turned half the time which makes it even more difficult.
One would think that a professional production company would have use of a wireless microphone, better video equipment, and the ability to edit out some of the background noise of the con so that the interviews could be heard.
The still gallery at the end of the video is another horror with most of the pictures looking like they were taken by my 2-year old daughter with my picture phone.
I was half tempted to come back to Con today and ask for my money back. If you are going to lay out the money for a "professional" production company to come in and shoot your DVD, I would think that you would at least want to get your money's worth.
I searched the web looking for an email contact from someone at Savage Armadillo to copy this information to as well but was unable to find one. I would love to be able to get in touch with them to voice my displeasure. However, if I produced a video or dvd of this quality, I wouldn't want to be found on the web either.
x-posted to other DC Groups.
