Thanks to everyone who responded to my last post about the Walk of Fame! I'm excited as this will be my first DC and I have been reading all the FAQ and basic tips, I'm looking forward to having a good time! Just three more quick questions I'm hoping someone can help me out with:

Is there a listing somewhere of parties and things that one can go to? I read somewhere that a lot of the parties are invitation only, so are there ones that are open to those who don't know a lot of people at the con and want to mingle?

Does anyone know if there is a health food store/whole food supermarket near the con? I drink this all natural energy stuff when I'm at home and need a boost (rather than red bull or something like that) and I'm flying in so won't be able to bring any with me. I'd love to be able to pick some up when I get into the city.

Any recommendations on places to pick up wine or beer? Again, flying into the con and would rather not have to pay hotel prices for alcohol so I was planning on stocking up on Thursday or Friday. I read somewhere that there is a convenience store I could probably pick up a cheap cooler to stow stuff in?
