I never let housekeeping into our room. I don't trust them. My group has had things stolen twice during D*C weekend, some of them being cast of shows that we personally paid to get there.
We bring our own everything and never let a maid into our room. But we make sure that at the end of our stay it is a easy clean up for whoever is scheduled to clean the room after we checkout.
