Thanks!
Most of the various gaming category pages from the DragonCon website say "... will return in 2008." Six weeks until con and there aren't any further details? A couple years ago Magic: The Gathering tournaments were run by SouthEast Magic. I enjoyed their constant tournaments going on from the big ones to the constant booster-draft types. Last year the Magic "area" was much much smaller and no one had anything organized. I know SouthEast Magic is no longer in existence but it would have been great if you would have had someone /company running tournaments. I know its probably to late to do anything for this con, but I'd like to see some organized events come back.

I know there are lots of posts about when you get to DCon and you get your program book to sit down with a highlighter and mark all the things you want to attend. Thats a great suggestion.
What I do is to take my serious track and take their schedule, (almost every track has their schedule up at least a few days before Con posted) put it into an excel spreadsheet (some might require a bit of typing on your part to put it into an excel spreadsheet, but trust me its worth it) (a lot of tracks already use excel) and then add in the other things we want to attend, I color code it, for things we must attend, events we are hosting, things we want to attend, things that might be kewl.
I start it about Feb of each year, if nothing more is on it than the Parade. But I have a basic working document and add to it. Each day is divided up into either a separate page or a different sheet. There is room at the bottom to pencil in new things that are posted each day on the schedule on the DC schedule. (A must thing to check) This allows us to decide which event we want to "really" attend and also gives us a determination of how much time we have to get to each event from the last one we want to attend. Some events tend to fill up quickly, and then close their doors and gives us hints we need to get there early and get in line.
Almost all if not every host hotel (we stay at the Hyatt, so I know they do) have a business center with computers and printers available) so each day you can go down there and print out a new day update page. I get up and go print a new days schedule for us. It's less combursome that carrying around the program book, and its suited for just what you want to attend.
I find this much easier than trying to go through the program book each day.
Just a thought.
