Overflow hotel?

Hey all...

I'm doing a little legwork for a friend of mine who's considering making a first trip to D*Con.  What's a good, close, and relatively inexpensive hotel close to the con?  Is there one that might be less than $90 per night (the cheapest rate offered by the overflow hotels) within easy walking distance?

My wife and I have already had our Hyatt rooms booked for months, so we don't usually think about these things.

Hey there fellow Cosplayers. This is my first time here in this online community but my husband and I have been attending the con for the past 3 years and it has become our favorite place to celebrate our wedding anniversary. We always meet so many new people while there but would love to make more friends who enjoy going as well before the con this year. We also live in the Atlanta area so we know our way around so if you are new to the con and have questions please feel free to ask. We are still in debate for our costumes last year we were Pirates and the year before Goth and before that we were BSG. Anyway feel free to drop me a line. :)

Hey ya'll!

Ive just recently found out about DC down here and Im really excited to go! Ive never been to/heard of it but from what Ive found it looks AMAZING!!

If anyone can tell me more about it, it would be greatly appreciated! Ill most likely be driving up from FL, and Im not really sure where its at exactly so I dont know where to look for hotels, and I dont know a ballpark figure on how much to bring. But I do have my costumes ready!! =)
