I hope it is just a revamping but a lot of the writers that were listed are now missing off of the main page.  They are listed on the http://www.dragoncon.org/dc_guests_list.php page but it would still be nice to see them on the front page where they were before.  Also there are more musical acts listed under the guest page than are on the main page so if anyone is looking for a certain band, they might want to check there.

Austin rideshare

We are going to drive from Austin and are looking for people from  Austin or Dallas area to share driving and possibly a hotel room. Anyone interested?  This is our first year going and we thought the drive down would be a great way to get to know people.

I've been looking for a ride/hotel share website for Dragoncon, and haven't found one yet. Does anyone know if there is such a site, or any plans for one?

I was just wondering if anyone has an up to date list of where things will be going on this year. Specifically, what will be going on in which hotels (dealer rooms, game area, track rooms, etc)?

Hyatt Room Available

Just called - and was informed that they do not guarantee room types/# of beds. So me & my 2 Male friends, with who 1 I will only share a room with, and the other, well, if the bed's big enough it's considerable... may get stuck in 1 room w/ 1 bed.

And Marriott can't tell me what happens to Con rooms that are cancelled - whether they go back to avail under Con rate, or regular rate ($269 + tax).

Looks like from now on, I worry about myself, as my local buds flip-flop as to their going...sigh.

So, in about 2 wks, looks like I will have a room avail @ the Hyatt @ Con rate. Cuz I don't think my 2 buds are gonna want to risk the floor.

Today my LJ had almost all D*con posts on my friends page! I can feel the excitement and squee-ing in the air! So I thought I'd just add a post saying I can not wait. I am really getting excited to see friends and wear silly amazing things and take pictures of silly amazing things. I am picturing myself right now having a drink in the Hyatt bar people watching and meeting new friends who pull up a chair. Oh yeah, the an-tic-i-pat-ion! The costumes are coming along, friends are booking flights, and I am counting down officially now. :0)
