1) It's half a year, 7 months? until the con and I keep seeing talk on here about booking hotels....making me rather nervous! I know the question has been asked, 'how early to book?' and the answer is usually 'ASAP!'

But when do the hotels usually get officially 'closed: BOOKED.' One month in advance, 5 months in advance? If I wait a month from now, am I really going to have no chance of getting a room? @_@ I'm kinda heading off on an epic adventure to New Zealand soon and need a little more time and savings before I worry myself about DC....unless that wiggle room is going to kill my chances of getting a room x_x I'm pretty certain I can go, but my roommates are not so certain yet due to school and work issues.

2) Anyone done the writing workshop before? The one that would be on Thurs and Fri? I'm in the final editing stages of my novel and will be submitting it around April but I'm not counting on the first publisher who sees it to love it :P so I'm thinking that the workshop could be really beneficial. BUT, I also graduated with an English degree... is this workshop going to tell me what I already learned in college? ^_~

3) I'm interested in getting a table with my friend--she's an artist and I'd like to pass out a free sample chapter and hopefully get some people interested in my book ;) ...where should the table be? It's been ages since I was at Otakon and I can't for the life of me remember if the artists/authors were in the dealer's room or the artist's alley or somewhere else entirely.....?

(speaking of the sample chapter: http://members.tripod.com/ldy_zelda/Judgmentsamplechapter.htm apologies for the crappy-ass tripod page, the official domain is under construction)

Thanks for any help!

Out of the ashes of the North American Tribal Gathering Track rises a whole new breed of programming: Apocalypse Rising: Apocalyptic Themes In Popular Media. Making our debut at Dragon*Con 2007 we offer a contemporary look at the end of days and all that will follow.

And as we all know you can't have a good Apocalypse with out such fandoms as Jeremiah, Jericho, The Tribe, zombies, and more! So we need to hear from you, the people who know the most. We're looking for topics for discussion panels, who you would like to see (no worries, A-listers are already being pursued), and in general what makes your fandom so great. And if you are attending Dragon Con and want to be on a panel, all the better! Afterall, we need all the survivors we can get.

If you'd like to learn more about our track, are interested in being a panelist (remember, you have to be coming to Dragon Con), or just have ideas to share please contact us at:
