Since I don't have to pay for it; since it's going to cost me virtually nothing; and since I can be a freeloader AND not have to share a bed with anyone to do it.

I'll be coming!!

I'll be there Friday and Saturday nights - some of Sunday; but then I have to get home for family time.

So now, WHO will I see there? WHO is going to fetch my Starbucks?

And no, I'm not dressing as a furry yiffing anything - I'm just wearing jeans and tees... maybe tight fitting tees.. I don't know.

For those that don't know me (although the circle I spiral works in circles that spiral in other directions...) feel free to view my bio page.

Anyhow... see you guys there.

DRAGON*CON!!! We're almost there!

Hey, kids, when you're down in the dealer room, please make sure to stop by and say hello. I have the great privilege of releasing my latest book, SPEAKING IN TONIGUES, this year (see picture!) and I'll be giving away some cool swag at the table.*

Everybody drive/fly/swim/crawl safely and I'll see you there! OH! And please turn out for this awesome panel on Sunday at 4 p.m.: Defining the Superhero. I'll be joined by such luminaries as Peter David, Paul Dini and Marv Wolfman. You gotta be there!

*Some restrictions apply. You must be at least this tall to ride this ride. Do not feed the bears (or people dressed as bears). Offer good while supplies last. Special t-shirt offer not valid in Boise, ID. Please tip your waitresses. Thank you.

Considering this is my first D*Con, I am all souped up and ready to attend! Just look for the Cutter from "ElfQuest" and Zidane from FF9 carrying an Ultraman plushie around. Much love everyone! Mwah! ^.^

Now that my costumes and bags and all that shit are packed and ready to go, the worst part about leaving to go to Dragon*Con is remembering all the things you forgot and having to come back and get it.

This year, the Daily Dragon is launching a podcast to give con-goers another way to get up-to-date Dragon*Con news during the convention. Stephen Eley, of Escape Pod ([livejournal.com profile] escapepodcast), will bring you news, highlights, and his own brand of humor and insight every day.

The first, pre-con podcast for Thursday is now up for download.

Just thought everybody might be pleased to know that Weather.com is now reporting no storms this weekend! The only rain that shows on the forecast is for Monday, and even then, it's minor.

Here's the forecast.

Looks like we lucked out. :)

So, I got my blue confirmation card in the mail a month ago or so.

Unfortunately, it seems like I've lost it. =\

Will that be a big problem for me getting my badge?

Does anyone know what time registration stays open tonight? And if they have put the schedule up anywhere yet?

The room is 1124 in the Hyatt. Bring ID or you won't be getting in. We'll open closer to 11 both night, but come by and get your drink on with the Order of the [livejournal.com profile] boozepack

With con time almost upon us, I've been pondering just how far I've come. In grade school, I was ostracized and ridiculed because I read Tolkien instead of playing kickball during recess, listened to anime music during carpool, and wasn't attracted to the what was seen as the ideal guy (GAP clothing + big muscles + tiny brain). Nowadays, nerdy females are considered a commodity, and this couldn't make me happier. Embracing my geeky tendencies is the best move I ever made on my road to self-acceptance, and I'm glad that I've discovered a whole convention of individuals who feel the same.

Viva La Dragon*Con! (and the people who make it possible:)

There will be a tournament for the Shadowfist CCG at Dragon*Con at 1pm on Saturday in the CCG area. The format is "Who's is the Big Man Now?" (dueling).

Shadowfist is the game of wild HK action movies, all of them, at the same time.

I will be running the tournament and I will also have demo decks and promos for those interested in giving the game a try. Z-Man Games will also have Shadowfist cards for sale at their booth.

I'd like to enter a vid I made into the fanvid contest in the Buffy track, but it has to be in VHS, VCD or DVD format. I've been trying all day to make a VCD that would actually work, to no avail, and I don't have access to a DVD writer (I did at home, but home is in Maine and I'm very much in Atlanta, and my boyfriend who was supposed to burn it for me, forgot.) So my question is - would anyone who has a DVD burner be willing to meet up with me someplace and burn it for me? I'll provide the disk myself, of course. Or, if you know how to make VCDs better than my copy of WinAVI does, that would be helpful, too. Either/or. I'm not picky.

Thanks in advance!

ETA: ...anybody? Bueller?

Also: Would any Xander fans be interested in an informal get-together of some kind (more like a get together and squee over Nick, but that's okay)?

So you don't go strolling all over the Hyatt when you get there, registration is in the Grand Hall West. This is where they gaming used to be. Also, you HAVE to enter from BAKER ST. you can NOT enter from the inside of the hotel.

That is all. :)

When does Registration startup tomorrow?
