Costuming

In my own searching for a few remaining costume pieces, I came across this store on Ebay, and I thought it might help someone else out. Her prices seem reasonable, and she can make her items custom to your size; and, according to the info in her listings, they would likely get to you in time for this year's Dragoncon.

Cheers!

Ride Needed

I'm looking for someone who could give me a ride to D*C. I live in Charleston, SC, but I can meet you someplace or whatever is easiest. I'm hoping to leave Friday morning and leave Sunday, but I'm completely flexable. I can pitch in for gas and parking. I'm quiet femme and won't be packing much (my backpack and an air mattress). Anyone? Anyone?
I've gotten two strong leads for rides locally. Thanks everyone!!

Question from a first-time D*con attendee, but long-time con goer. My friends and I have a room at the Hilton. It was really a deal we couldn't pass up [$50 a person covering the entire five nights. I paid $100 to get my own bed. ;-)], but I read something in a comment saying the walk from the Hilton to the other host hotels was hellish? We were under the impression that the Hilton was across the street from the Marriot, and figured even if it's a really busy street, there was probably a light/crosswalk somewhere nearby.

Can anyone clarify for me, and maybe offer tips on how to deal with this? We're all going to be in costume, so if we need to rethink things a little, I'd rather know in advance.

Thanks!

My husband, [livejournal.com profile] sinsect, and I were just thinking: The 501st is such a magnificent sight to see every year- how many people are planning on wearing a Guy Fawkes mask to con? It would be a wonderful thing to have some sort of massive gathering a-la the end of V.

Maybe? Anyone...anyone? :)

EDIT:
So far, this is all I've found (short of $25 ones on Ebay): Guy Fawkes mask = $6.99

If your con roommates flaked on you, leaving you with a hotel room that you can't pay for, I can help.

Being the procrastinator that I am, I forgot to make my DragonCon reservations until it was too late and the Hyatt was full. If you want to dump your room, let me know. My paypal account is seriously messed up right now, but I have a credit card to take over the reservation or a debit card to pay for it all upfront.

PLEASE!!

I'm desperate!!

Walking several blocks from an overflow hotel while wearing costumes isn't fun. Neither is wandering around downtown Atlanta at 3:00am drunk because you can't remember how to get back to your hotel 6 blocks away. Um... not that I would know anything about that >_>

e-mail me at soni.powell@gmail.com or comment to my LJ if you have a room and we can work something out.

(unfortunately, I'm not looking to room with strangers or sleeping on a floor. I am looking, ideally, for a room in the Hyatt... marriott will do too... with 2 beds... but one bed works too!)

TIA!
