The first is related to D-Con. I'm really interested in learning how to make some quality "puppet" costumes. This past year there was a guy in a huge "The Maxx" costume and it was awesome, i'd love to learn to do that kind of work. Any suggestions on resources I should look into, any good books or classes I should cbe checking out? I live in Atlanta.

And second, not con related but I'm gathering people in Atlanta for tommorow (Sunday July 02) at 3pm to hang out in Inman Park with lots of sidewalk chalk and color the path through the park. Just seamed like something fun and random to do, who wants to come join me?

DragonCon's popular goth and horror track, recently renamed "Gothic Shadows," will be returning in 2006. This year, we are pleased to see the long-awaited return of The Last Dance to the DragonCon stage. The Last Dance is one of the finest gothic rock acts working today, with a fanbase that grows with each album and live performance. The Last Dance will be joining a roster that already includes regular DragonCon performers The Cruxshadows and gothic "Renaissance man" Voltaire.

Members of the various musical acts will take part in the Gothic Shadows programming, which will include panels on music and gothic culture. Tentative topics to be discussed will be making music videos, the art of putting on a great live show, and creative inspiration.

Gothic Shadows will also be the home of panels devoted to dark fantasy literature. Our guest speakers will include, among others, best-selling author Sherrilyn Kenyon, L.A. Banks, Rosemary Laurey, and comics talent Todd Livingston. 2006 will also mark the return of Wendy Darling, one of the architects for DragonCon's inaugural gothic track, to the team. The literary aspects of the track will feature panels on ghosts, alternative sexuality in fantasy, lycanthropy, the Lovecraftian tradition, and supernatural erotica.

A metaphysical element will be brought to the track via noted occult writer Michelle Belanger. Additional tracks will focus on gothic fashion and body piercing.

Final programming is being sorted out. More will be posted as it becomes available.
