Ever used the resources at DragonCon (publishers, distributors, marketing, artists, writers) for comic promotion?

We’re putting the finishing touches on our first issue, and will have printed copies by Aug. We’ve submitted to a few publishers but to no avail. Thought we’d try the self-promotion route. I know DCON has writer and artist tracks. We have that covered.

Anyone actually been signed through self-promotion at DCON?
Any methods used at DCON in the past that caught your eye?
Other resources some people in our situation?
Successful promotion/networking methods you've used? Success stories? Unsuccessfully?

Are you in comic distibuting/publishing/marketing? Self-publishing? If so let's chat. Or plan to meet at DCON.
