Shuttle bus question

Wow...35 days left. How bout that?

Just a quikie question for all you fine folks: I noticed on the "New for 2009" page they mentioned a shuttle will be running between the host hotels. Is there any word on if it will be available to take people from the Hyatt to the Shereton during pre-reg? I know it would be a huge boon for people like me who have a bit of trouble walking that far.

And speaking of pre-reg, I'm actually making it down on Thurs afternoon. Anyone know when pre-reg opens?

I don't have an answer for you, but I hope someone knows when pre-reg closes on Thursday as well. I work downtown, and would love to just head over to the con after work. XD

They've had a shuttle bus ever since I've been going, but I've yet to actually see it. Of course, I haven't really been looking for it either, so.. :) Can't help you on that.

However, registration USUALLY opens at 4pm on Thursday.

This is my first DC and we will be arriving around 1-2pm ish on Thursday, about how long of a wait do we have if we are in line by 4pm? I don't mind waiting on Thursday, since that way we are sure not to miss any panels, etc.

I'm pretty sure badge pick-up is 4-8 on Thursday.

I'm hoping the line is better this year. I've heard they're doing it differently since they have more room at the Sheraton and that it will possibly move quicker.

Good question. I'm not looking forward to dealing with the Sheraton again, but oh well, beer will flow afterward.

I also wondered about a bus to the Sheraton
on Thursday. I e-mailed Disability Services
and the reply was NO BUS on Thursday.

Just take it slow and in stages I guess.

Yeah, the shuttle...

My friends and I wanted to use said shuttle last year. There were schedules posted and everything, but not one of us ever saw it. We asked the people manning the information booths, the hotel valets, other con-goers--everybody. And NO ONE knew anything about a shuttle. I didn't even see one driving around downtown. We ended up walking or taking a cab.
