Hyatt drama ?

As much as I hate to dredge up this whole Hyatt debacle again, I was just wondering if everyone thinks its actually over or if anyone got a phone call as late as today to move them to the Omni?   Also, for those who didn't get the dreaded call, did you receive a recent confirmation email or something similar ?   I haven't received a call or email either way so I'm trying to figure out where I stand.

I received confirmation emails for my rooms this morning.

We haven't received a confirmation email, but we haven't received any emails regarding our room ever. I did call them today to make sure everything was in order, though, and they still had the reservation, so unless they're still calling to move people I'm hoping I can rest easy.

Hotel e-mail confirmations tend to be hit or miss affairs. One year I'll get it another year I won't. Just call to confirm or check their website. And always take a paper copy of your confirmation when you made it to check in.

Haven't heard anything, but called Friday to check on my reservation, and everything seems to be in place~

I wasn't (haven't been) moved, and I haven't gotten a confirmation email or phone call or anything. I called Friday to check on the reservation, reiterate my room requests, and asked them to put a note in that a move to the Omni would be extremely difficult for me because of my chronic illnesses, but at that point they couldn't tell me for sure if all the "you've been moved" calls had gone out yet or not. (No idea if that note helped anything -- I'm guessing not, just luck of the draw -- but I figured it couldn't hurt.) So I'm in the same boat as you, waiting on pins and needles and hoping they've made all the calls they're going to make. I won't relax until I've checked in on Thursday. ;P

So far the only people I know that have been forcibly moved are guests stay less than 3 nights. To my knowledge they haven't gotten to 4+ days yet. 3 day resevations Im not sure of.

so besides offering to put you up at the other hotel, did they do anything sensible like comp you three nights at another hyatt property in the future? (sort of like the airlines do?) seems to me that would have gone a long way towards fixing this mess they made....

We got one free night at the Omni and a reduced rate, and reservations for next year at the Hyatt at this year's rate. I received the confirmation today.

My group lost both 3- and 4-night reservations to the Omni.

That's not good. Ugh! I think I'm gonna go transfer money to my card so I can try to check in early

[identity profile] carsonok.livejournal.com 2011-08-30 04:27 pm (UTC)(link)
I can't speak for the Hyatt but I can speak for the other host hotels in that because they know its D*C they have let me check in as early as 10am. Even if they can't give you a room they should be willing to store your luggage until you can actually check in.

yes, this. (at least for the hilton. i do it every year. sometimes the room isn't ready and i have to come back later to pick up the key, but it's no problem at all.)

At 1am I recieved my early checkin email. Unfortunately I'm $70 short on my card. Wonder if I can do a partial payment?

Called and all is well I was assured. So my room is safe. That took alot of stress and worry off of me. Now when I get there in the morning and I'm moved I may have to be retrained from pimp slapping someone. I'm recovering from a broken foot in early July and do not plan on walking I've 1/2 to change costumes. Bad enough the shuttle service only goes to 8/9pm.
