WiFi options?

Hey everyone! I seem to recall a few months ago that someone posted about a decently priced WiFi monthly plan that had service in Atlanta (but I can't seem to find the post). I need reliable internet for my netbook in all the hotels while I'm there, but don't want to have to go under a year contract for it. Any suggestions?

I thought they mentioned boingo. www.boingo.com and there's a location search on the website that includes downtown Atlanta.

This is from the website:
What is Boingo Unlimited?
Enjoy unlimited Wi-Fi access on your laptop at thousands of hotspots throughout the Americas, for just $9.95 USD per month! Please note, charges recur each month, but Boingo is flexible, so you can change your plan at any time without penalty. Wi-Fi connections made outside the Americas will be billed an additional $0.12 or $0.18 per minute, depending on location, in addition to your monthly subscription. For a complete list of pricing by currency, please click here.

Sign up for Boingo Unlimited today!

- I think this means that you sign up for a month and then you can cancel before it renews without penalty.

This is just a guess.

I think this is the post you're talking about? Boingo:

Apparently it doesn't work that well at the Marriott, according to one user.

How about something like this:

Yeah, that was me who was talking about that.....and it was Boingo I mentioned. I haven't used it before at that particular Marriott, so it's tough to say how good it will be. I have used it very successfully at others however, and it worked just fine.

Keep in mind, though, that so far as I know, the Marriott is the only hotel that participates in Boingo.

FYI, I do know that the Boingo subscription access uses the exact same WiFi network as the regular Marriott WiFi, so if it were that awful I imagine they'd be getting complaints left and right.

There is also Clear that covers Atlanta, you can sign up for a day pass for 4g service, you do have to buy the dongle, but there's not a contract, and you only pay if you use it.

Atlanta was actually one of the first cities to have Clear installed. I've been using it for my home interwebs for at least a year now, I just have the home router since I don't have a laptop, but had a friend that used his laptop card last year from the Hyatt with no problem.

WOW, That is terrible customer service. CS rep did not even bother to look it up. Atlanta was one of two test cities when Clear first started. Had it ever since.
