Days Inn?

Has anyone stayed at the Days Inn before? How was it service-wise? How was the walk to and from the main hotels? Any recommendations?

I stayed there this year, and I plan to stay there again in 2010.

No complaints. Walk wasn't too bad, room was fine, breakfast free until 10:30, free wi-fi, etc. Perfectly fine, half the cost.

Done deal.

That reminds me. I shall call in the morning for my reservation.

We stayed at the Days Inn once after D*C when we were stranded in Atlanta due to a hurricane. It was our backup hotel if we couldn't get a main hotel this year. I think it's certainly the closest of the overflows. And our room had a balcony, microwave, and mini fridge.

Stayed there twice. First time okay, second time bad service and few room issues. Coming back to hotel from con okay, going to con from hotel couple blocks of hill.

Not Bad

I stayed there this year. Room was ok. Lighting not too great for makeup. Bed good. Wireless internet worked well. The walk was about two blocks. I am 53 and have had open heart surgery and I did fine. The breakfast was just ok. I have booked for next year. The Best Western is also going to reopen. It is the Inn at the Peachtrees now. Both are much more reasonably priced than con hotels.

WE stayed there. Alot of bang for the buck. PArking was reasonable too. If you are doing ALOT of costume changes or the weather is bad, the hill can be a pain for flatlanders. We had no complaints. Don't think the restaurant was open when we stayed there two years ago.

I didn't stay there myself but [livejournal.com profile] mephron did and had terrible experiences 2 years running (but this was probably 05 and 06) and swore never to stay there again.

Reservation?

Do they charge anything beforehand for reservations? I won't have the money for the rooms until later in the year, but I'd like to reserve a room now if possible. I remember the RRI allowed this 2 years ago, but they've changed ownership a few times since then.

I have a debit card; do they do a pre-charge to check it or is it there just in case I don't show up?

And thanks!

i actually rather liked it. with a 4 person room, you can stay for a week for what it costs to stay one night in the host hotels. it's only like a block away from the hyatt. i've stayed there a few years and never had any complaints.

I satyed there two years ago and it was not too bad. The only problem I had was the parking lot is a little tight when full, but I also drive a full sized truck. The walk is not too bad, the usual pan handlers. Oh and if you walk back from a party the Police may just look at you funny as long as you can pick yourself up if you fall. Service wise the room was not in my name but I do not think there were ant problems.

2 years ago stayed there, we got what we paid for, had mold in room on ceiling, got moved, had mold on ceiling in new room too.

Water pressure was ok, restaurant was closed while we stayed there.
